Mrs. Negotiator got to pick last night, so it was "Made of Honor"... As far as "relationship" movies go, it's better than your usual fare - not quite as good as "The Wedding Singer" or "Hitched". Sort of in the realm of "13 going on 30" (i.e. tolerable, funny at times)...

In return, she said that she wants to watch the much-maligned first Transformers film. OK, that's fair...

Update 8/4/2009: Man, I'm still the most recent post? I'd rather not double post - I'll just update...
We watched TF 1 last week. Mrs. Negotiator started dozing off about halfway through it. I don't think she gave it a chance... I mean, even after two TF movies, I'm not 100% on the Bay bandwagon, but I found things to like in TF 1 & 2 (Sam's parents nonwithstanding).

We rented "Yes Man" last week. Great movie...

Saw Funny People on Thursday night.

I get upset when Hollywood markets drama/comedy movies as mostly comedy.

Will be watching soon...

Will write back shortly...

UPDATE: Sorry, I needed to leave for the theater shortly after I posted, so I wouldn't miss the show. It was a free Admit Two pass given out by a local comic book store. OK, on to the movie:

You know by now that I hate to give away anything significant about films, and thus potentially ruin someone's movie experience. So I will keep it short and sweet, and quite vague... I had some issues with a few of the special effects, but overall I think I was just served a healthy serving of awesomage, with a hint of humor (just a hint, just enough). Also, for the lactose-intolerant folks out there, I didn't detect any cheese in this one... Cool

On a side note, I did see the Avatar: T.L.A. trailer, as done by M. Night Shamalan. I think it could potentially be OK, as I could not see this particular trailer "having all the good scenes"...

Squidbillies Vol.1

One of AS better shows that really grew on me as I watched it.

I saw GI Joe on Friday, and it was pretty damn awesome.

A lot like Transformers, in that it's a grown-up big screen version of a beloved childhood cartoon that was a glorified toy commercial. But it didn't take itself as seriously.

Yeah. GI Joe > Transformers.

"I Love You Man"

Was glad to get around to seeing it.  Despite the first half being *so* awkward, the rest was gold.

Street Fighter II V

I love the dub, as the Japanese version takes itself WAAAAAAY to serious a good 95% of the time.

A friend of mine had the same problem; I thought it was funny enough.

I must be some kind of pretentious, stuck-up jerk because I don't understand how someone could watch half the movies you guys love and not fall asleep.

Wait a minute... some of the recent movies I wanted to see had an indie flavor to it... yes, I do believe I am that jerk.

On another note, I hope we can all agree that DISTRICT MOTHAF*CKIN NINE is going to rock the socks off planet earth.

... and I want to see The Hurt Locker. If only I was not broke.  Cry

And it did.

Starts a bit slow, but oh, does it kick ass.

The Terminators

I watch this last Saturday during Sci-fi's usaul B Movie premieres. It's a movie from The Asylum, so it's a cheap knock off of the latest Terminator movie. In short it was pretty bad, but in a good way.

I was thinking "well it can't be that bad can it?".

I was wrong. Sad
