I have never, ever seen nor heard tell of Priest, anime, manga, live-action or any other.

And yet I totally know what you mean.

As for just "what the hell" they have done, they have simply made it "profitable".

And "Post Apocalyptic" is an oxymoron. It is the SODDING APOCALYPSE. There are no bald men dressed in rags with sunglasses and big guns. There are no sword-wielding warrior women in tank tops and hot pants trudging through the desert slaughtering radioactive zombies. There are no cyborg vampires. There sure as all hell ain't no spoon, either, because the WHOLE DAMN PLANET JUST BLEW UP.

I honestly though a weird west story would be an easy sell, but I guess since Vampires are the big thing these days, I can see where they are coming from.

Kind of like Darkwatch.

Which was such a joyously flamboyant ripoff of Halo it made me laugh.

* Guns with melee attacks
* L trigger throws grenade/dynamite
* Shield bar
* Naked, disembodied woman giving you mission support in your head
* Exploding reactor sequence (it's the 1800's and there's still a "reactor")

Vampires, old west...

...I digress.

It really goes without saying, but experience dictates that live action versions of popular fiction tend to suck raw eggs. The Last Airbender comes to mind almost instantly.

I wonder, is there really any anime or manga that could survive being made into live action? Like, at all?

Its funny you should bring up video games, as I remember there was a Priest MMO that was announced and then died in the very early stages.

Or not funny, appropriate..kind of...I guess.

(I read one of these, it didn't seem that great. It was like it was trying to be hellsing, but in the late 1800s and with demons)
