Title: Vegeta Is Getting Into Radio
Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on September 02, 2007, 04:19:33 AM
Yeah, you heard me. I'm making an internet radio show and my first show is tomorrow at 1400, Pacific time. That means... What, 1700 Eastern? Anyway, if you want a chance to hear my voice, hear some music, and hear some general rambling rants about the state of society, humanity, and why in the hell a waiter who takes your order at a restaurant can't seem to speak English, then come on and listen. I'll post the URL in a bit, but for now, I'm just giving le heads up.
War.

Do you mean Sunday, as in you were probably still in a Saturday mindset, or do you mean Monday, because you technically posted that on Sunday?

Blog Talk Radio had some bloody problem, preventing me from even logging in for my first show! That's going to frustrate me to no end, but you can still see my upcoming scheduled shows on the schedule on my radio front page at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/The_Dungeon_Master.

This way you can listen in. The site gave me a number, you can call in and mention something if you want, talk to me about stuff, plug things of yours if you wish it, so feel free to call. There'll be quite a varied type of music played, topics discussed, so I may end up all over the lace sometime. Bear with me.

Okay, first show is tonight, Monday September 3 at 0000 Pacific. That means 0100 for Mountain Time Zone, 0200 for Central, and 0300 for Eastern. For the rest of you, try to find out for yourself because I have some last minute things to upload before the show.

Well, if I'm still awake at 3 AM, I'll be listening.

Well, let's just pretend the pilot broadcast never happened, save to show it works now. Brilliant. Tuesday at 1500 Pacific is the next show, guaranteed free of drama, filled with more music, and a lot less hiccups now that I know how to do everything. Brilliant that their only guides for it all is hidden in tiny fineprint.

We certainly want more callers. All of you CoA members can feel free to listen in, and call in, and join us on the show.

For our part, we've done several shows since the pilot, including a Talk Like a Pirate Day special, and a Halo 3 special.

It sounded cool, but do we call in with our user names or real names? In the meantime, I'll be listening...

You call in with whatever name you want. I answer, ask "who is this?" then you give me a name. It's not that hard.

"Talk like a Pirate Day" WAS full of win... Keep up the good work.

That's cool, didn't know if you wanted CoA/PCF aliases (easier to recognize) or what. OK, now that the ground rules have been laid down, I'll look up the number...

In the meantime, I've got an old flash memory MP3 player that should be able to hold a podcast or two. Listening on the PC was cool, but the player would be a more portable solution. Another big plus is, instead of cabling the PC to the shelf-system upstairs, I could run the MP3 player into the big surround stereo downstairs.

Can you say
      A
   W    R
W          R?
   W    R
      A

Mindblowing, ain't it?

.The Final Negotiator.

Yeah, more shows are planned, I have just been recovering from a pretty heavy duty surgery the last several weeks.

I just missed you're live show on Saturday, but it was an emergency - a free birthday burger needed to be acquired...

However, you will be pleased to know that I have been following your podcasts, even managing to drop one onto that old MP3 player of mine. At first it didn't seem to take (bad USB port on player), but as soon as I saw the BSOD, I knew that I was on the right track.  8)

Anyhow, it gives me time to consider calling with a  shorter moniker than The Final Negotiator...

Keep up the good work,

.The Final Negotiator.

Update: OK, I thought of a good handle... Unfortunately, the MP3 player recently took a "bad bounce" on a hardwood floor. Fortunately it doesn't use a hard drive, but it left a funky pattern on the LCD. Crud... However, it should still work. If not, there's more than enough space in my phone's "hidden" MP3 space.  8)

BTW, the Halo 3 episode was all kinds of win. Will there be an online deathmatch for listeners during the show? After participating in a 12/13-computer LAN party (depending on whether or not I count the Dell-owner who couldn't link up ???), I've got to say that WAN parties are MUCH easier... :)

Update time.

I haven't done shows for a long time. My computer ran into a spot of trouble. Namely, it crapped out from Windows XP security update and now I'm forced to use a Mac, the shittiest 'computer' known to mankind.

I have also been pondering the show's direction, and I would like to take it in a more serious direction.

At least slightly so. To this end, I emailed, faxed, sent real letters and called representatives and offices for Wizards of the Coast, Calico Light Weapons Systems, the Portland Trail Blazers, Ted Kulongoski, and both Oregon Senators. I recieved word from Gvnr. Kulongoski's offices that Ted Kulongoski would love to make a show appearance at some point, so I need to find a way to schedule him in. I'd like to get Greg Oden on the show, too, but that's unlikely. Robert Wyden responded rather well to an email as well, stating he wouldn't mind making an appearance. Wizards of the Coast made no reply, Calico offered to show off some of their new light assault carbines and their automatic shotgun still in development if we get a video segment up and going. That's all for now. Keep listening to the podcasts for now!

For those who don't know the names I dropped, they are as follows:

Ted Kulongoski: Governor of Oregon (D).

Rob Wyden: Senator for Oregon (D).

Greg Oden: Player for Portland Trail Blazers.

That is all.
