Sometimes Disney offers some entertainment for adults at their parks.

I don't see that as explaining it

They have a sort of night club performance for the adults who brought their kids and want to spend a night away from the kids. The park has to link it back to Disney somehow, or the night clubbish entertainment would clash with Disney's image. So they put mascots on the stage as well.
