Title: Question like burning Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on May 01, 2008, 01:41:49 PM I know it's out there. I cannot remember the title. I remember it involved people being TRAPPED in the mecha or powered armors they were in, some kind of weird... bonding thing to their bodies.
It's probably all messed up, since I can't remember it precisely, but if any of you have ideas off that little bit of information, I would appreciate it. War. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: D on May 02, 2008, 11:04:35 PM Gantz?
Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: EyeOfPain on May 05, 2008, 07:37:23 AM While it does seem familiar, this doesn't sound anything like Gantz.
Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: Zaune on May 05, 2008, 12:36:14 PM It sounds like something I saw trailered on the Sci-Fi Channel years ago. OVA made some time in the 80s, featured genetically-engineered supersoldiers? Couldn't tell you the title, but I'm pretty sure it exists.
Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: D on May 05, 2008, 07:20:32 PM Tekkaman Blade?
Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: R. Daniel 01 on May 05, 2008, 08:30:55 PM Tekkaman Blade? Even if this isn't what Todd is thinking of, I bet he'd get a kick out of it, if he hasn't already. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on May 05, 2008, 08:33:00 PM Tekkaman Blade? Even if this isn't what Todd is thinking of, I bet he'd get a kick out of it, if he hasn't already. I have not yet seen Tekkaman Blade, I think, but it might be what I'm thinking of. I should check it out and see. It's these weird sort of moments that remind me of anime like Iria. War. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: D on May 05, 2008, 09:16:05 PM Tekkaman Blade? I think. I was 12 when I saw it. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on May 05, 2008, 10:58:29 PM Hmm. I don't remember quite so many space battles in the anime I'm talking about, but then I don't remember much at all about it. I know there were onscreen references or visual cues to make the armors seem organic or some shit.
Like armored people coming out of... pod things covered in mucous or something. Almost like Guyver, but Guyver only had two armors, I believe. EDIT: Wait, it may indeed be "Teknoman." War. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on May 07, 2008, 12:19:49 AM What's the difference between Tekkaman Blade and Teknoman, besides one being in English and one not?
Also, what the hell is MISSING LING? War. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: D on May 07, 2008, 07:15:29 AM What's the difference between Tekkaman Blade and Teknoman, besides one being in English and one not? Also, what the hell is MISSING LING? War. Teknoman is an incredibly mangled edit. Tekkaman Blade is just :D Also, uhh, youtube it (missing ling/link) at your own risk. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: Zaune on May 07, 2008, 06:21:40 PM Guyver... That's what that show I saw trailered years ago was called! Thanks for that. Oh, and I caught some Tekkaman Blade clips on YouTube once and thought they looked pretty good; anyone got a reasonably cheap source for it?
Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: R. Daniel 01 on May 07, 2008, 07:29:35 PM Guyver... anyone got a reasonably cheap source for it? Torrents. D knows. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: Hobo on May 07, 2008, 08:27:50 PM Mentioning that torrents are an easy way to find something is fine.
Don't link them, that's illegal and stuff. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: D on May 08, 2008, 05:26:12 PM Mentioning that torrents are an easy way to find something is fine. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: EyeOfPain on May 12, 2008, 06:32:21 PM The Guyver (http://www.dvdaf.com/search.html?has=Guyver&rgn=us&init_form=str0_0_has_Guyver*rgn_1_us)
Unless it (the new anime) goes on sale at Right Stuf (http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/), Deep Discount (http://www.deepdiscount.com/) will probably have it for the best price. Title: Re: Question like burning Post by: Galatea on May 12, 2008, 09:35:06 PM I think Missing Ling was supposed to be Missing Link, and yeah the anime you described does sound like Tekkaman.
I saw missing ling/k on you tube once, if you've seen the whole of the original tekkaman then you're in for a real surprise when you see missing ling/k, Aki goes nuts especially when she tells D-boy to....well you'll see. It only goes for a few minutes though, i fish they would release the full version of it. I think it's called missing link becuase it is a bit of an insight to what happened between tekkaman 1 and Tekkaman 2. T2 is alright but doesn't really live up to the original. |
