Title: Instrument People
Post by: Hal356 on July 12, 2008, 11:25:05 AM
Okay, I am just curious  ??? because of some of the marching vids on here, how many of you guys can play something? Obviously, I play the euphonium (raise your hand if you know exactly what that instrument is).

Also tell us if you are currently or formerly involved with a band.

Trombone, yuh, so I'm down with low brass.

If percussion is the engine of a band, low brass is the carborator.

I learned to play the classical guitar in high school, but have since fallen out of practice.

And Trumpets are the jackass at the wheel going "LOOK AT ME I'M THE GREATEST F@!#ING DRIVER!!! AAHH HAHAHAHA"  ... and they're right  ;D

Seriously... We're awesome.

Firstly, hi Hal! Welcome to CoA. OK, now where were we? Oh yes, music...

Sorry, Hal, I found myself having to look up a euphonium, although I recognize the instrument from the many parades I've attended. Cool, so you guys give a piece it's "power"? Awesome...

Does a Merlin count? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlin_%28game%29) Probably not.

Sadly, although I appreciate music of all kinds, I have very little, if any, musician experience. Some electric organ tunes (no church organ, and no Deep Purple-type stuff, although that would have been awesome...), a little small xylophone playing in school. I have always wanted to learn to play either guitar or trap set (not the "I want to be a rock star" dream, I really wanted to know how...), but sadly (or happily), I've always been busy with other projects. Hopefully someday...

Also, hey, I'm back.

So I see. Good to know. Everything good I hope? This thread could make one wicked CoA swing band...

I used to play drums way back when I was in high school, like 6 years ago.

Despite the illusion that my teacher painted by giving me first chair, which i deserved anyway, i actually really sucked at the clarinet in middle school. You should see this japanese band CLUB play, though. my friend plays flute, and seriously, event though there were like, 20 some kids only, they were like OMIFRIGGINLAWD!!!

I played flute in middle school but I haven't played for about 5 years.  Now I play in a hand bell choir with my church.  I can play a tin whistle a little, too.  Give me long enough to pick it out, I can play a little bit of the piano.

I think that goes for every one...

I can play music on Pokemon D&P while shining badges... hehe

I play piano. I used to play violin, but it interfered with my schoolwork.

I used to play the violin.

Then I broke my arm and never played it again.

I also used to play a bit of the guitar, but I never really did find the time to practice.

I used to be able to make music on my old cell phone. ...
I've played with the most random things...
