Saved By the Bell opened up the floodgates, dude.

Cartoon Network has gone mad.

MAD I SAY!

that's just depressing. i heart jumanji, but come on. i noticed that cartoon network was no longer a network of just cartoons when their FRIDAYS thing was hosted by tony and zenga (who is now on current tv, talk about desperate.) i miss the days where blossom would fight over who was hosting with chicken, mojojojo, and some small person. :'(

There isn't much left on Cartoon Network that captures my attention these days anyway.

Also, Nickelodeon..... why the hell did they stop showing good shows like "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and Angry Beavers... and Salute Your Shorts.

Angry beavers was AWESOME.

That and Rocko still rule. You know how I know? I happened across the Nicktoons channel a little while ago and saw Angry Beavers. It was still funny. Unlike everything else, which you can tell will be hated by anyone older than 11.

Angry Beavers, Courage the Cowardly Dog, SAMURAI JACK...

The age of semi decent American cartoons is drawing toward its twilight. And Japan isn't faring much better.

This is the worst game of mad libs I've ever SEEN. You don't mark what words are needed, verbs or adjectives, nouns maybe?

Cinemax and Starz don't really have any original programming they're just rebroadcasts of movies.

Or maybe cinemax does, I wouldn't really care none of the non-hbo pay cable shows ever looked that appealing

I never watch TV anymore except when I'm at my dad's (okay, that's cause I can't afford cable TV AND internet at my place...), and I don't watch any of the cartoon programming anymore unless I can find old reruns.  I watch daytime TNT (the reruns of shows I like) and CSI.  I'll watch Food Network... and I'll "watch" random stuff as background noise for whatever else I'm doing.

I miss when Nickelodeon was actually good.

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise. I dunno. It just seems like the logical progression. Cartoon Network gets more popular, Cartoon Network, not realizing it's popularity is for its unique stuff generalizes themselves as much as possible to 'keep' their new audience. Cartoon Network settles mediocrity.

To be fair though, I'm pretty sure they have shown live action children's movies before now.

Osmosis Jones is acceptable because it is at least half cartoon.
Hell, Who Framed Roger Rabbit would be good, since it's about cartoons and is awesome.

They showed Who Framed Roger Rabbit once or twice. They edited out some of the better stuff though, even stuff that didn't make sense. Like they cut the Harvey joke! Why the Harvey joke? The mind boggles.

Because the jokes could be construed as vaguely sexual in nature? Cartoon Network sucks for the most part, save for some of the shows previously mentioned.

Samurai Jack was AWESOME.
Especially the one with the Scotsman.
And the Spartans.
And when he learned to jump good.
Basically every episode was quality.

Unlike Dexter's Lab, which failed as soon as Tartakovsky left and it tried to emulate Samurai Jack but ended up stinking worse than what my dog leaves on the kitchen floor if you don't let him out.

No. It means you just stop watching awful ones only a child could appreciate

Rocky and bullwinkle? Like I said, thats from like 1959 you maybe pick up on some of the wildly obscure references from then. Pinky and the Brain? Now I fully understand the constant orson welles references in it. Animaniacs? There was once part of that which is just a direct parody of apocalypse now.

So really, all of those got better..and looney tunes, thats just awesome in general.

"XTREME GHOSTBUSTERS"? Nah the ghostbusters cartoon that was on when I was a kid was okay..and I'm sure if I watched it now I wouldn't like it probably.

Pinky and the Brain, though, yes. YES. Until they dropped acid and thought making it Pinky Elmyra and the Brain was a good idea.

Also there was an Apocalypse Now spoof on Animaniacs? I must see. Probably a lot better than the one on the Simpsons a year or so ago.

My dad tried to surf once. He almost died.

It was the episode where The Simpsons Go To India. Mr. Burns outsourced the power plant to India, and Homer was put in charge, where he declared himself a god. The actual Apocalypse Now part was just a 5 minute scene where the family was going up the river but it was the best part of the show.
