Title: Haruhi Season 2

You've been watching the recent fansubs, right?

I want to bitch about KyoAni's decision with the Endless Eight arc.

Everyone wants to bitch about Endless Eight, but most don't ask permission first.

Was it a stupid decision? Probably, but I still haven't watched the last episode, so I don't know if the ending was worth it.

People did keep watching, despite being so upset (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy2b0RHArCg).

lol, thanks for that.

The reason I asked was because the rest of the Internet is bitching about it, too. On top of that, I really had nothing substantial to say, I just wanted to complain.

About the ending of Endless Eight:
I don't think this will be a spoiler, but it wasn't special or super-dramatic. It had several cute moments, but nothing in the Haruhi tradition.

Some people have been optimistic that, even with 8 episodes wasted on this mundane arc, the remaining bunch will still shine. After seeing episode 10, however, the mundanity is seeming less and less like an anomaly.

I'm holding off on 10 for now.

As you said, the ending of E8 was kinda cute, but not worth an eight episode lead-up.

Well, I ain't watching Season 2 anymore until the finale.

Season 1 pushed the limits!

Season 2 is a low-key slice-of-life comedy. Its similarities to Season 1 are superficial.

Problem is, Haruhi makes a poor slice-of-life comedy. There's no room for character development. According to the rules established in Season 1, if anyone in the SOS Brigade created personal drama that might somehow involve Haruhi, the universe itself could collapse.
