Title: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on April 06, 2010, 09:18:17 PM Once I'm done with my current project, I'm going to take an intermission and make a short animation loop. Anything cute, as long as it's short and Big O related. Preferably involving chibis.
Throw me your ideas! I'm partial to a chibi Big O using Sudden Impact on an original Megadeus, but that sounds too complicated. Something as simple as a carameldansen is ideal, really. Examples: (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/Mopchase_Final-1.gif) -or- (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/norman5_slow_caption.gif) Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Wingnut on April 07, 2010, 11:21:44 AM Something as simple as a carameldansen is ideal, really. There's already a video of that. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc12gvO2Qeo) Actual CD stuff doesn't start until a minute in, and i recommend watching in the 480p option.Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Professor Vogler on April 07, 2010, 11:31:07 AM Big O giving a hi-five to MegasXLR. (It's funny cos Megas is a fraction of Big O's height)
Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on April 07, 2010, 11:46:01 AM Quote There's already a video of that. Yeah, I've seen it, too. That's why I gave it as an example. It's one of the better ones I've seen, too. Very smooth. It would be cool if Yuko translated the dialogue in the beginning. Quote Big O giving a hi-five to MegasXLR This could be good. Megas could leap into the air up all heroically, with a "YEAH!" at the top. It'd be a bit complicated, though, since I'll have to establish the difference in scale.More suggestions please. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Tifaria on April 07, 2010, 05:30:38 PM Well, if you just want something easy, but in the chibi style, it could be something as simple as chibi verisons of things the characters already do. Like, Roger whipping his watch out, or Vera with her whip, or, uh.. I dunno, that actually sounded better before I started trying to think of examples. Unless you specifically wanted to stick to the mechs, in which case I have nothing.
Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on April 07, 2010, 06:42:53 PM Certainly not restricted to the mechs.
You gave me an idea! Besides the ones you posted, which are just fine. Chibi Roger being all serious with his watch sounds adorably ironic. How about Dorothy being all grumpy, wearing an apron, pushing a mop around? I think thaz cuuute. :-[ Now I'm feeling like doing several! Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Wazpy on April 08, 2010, 12:23:00 PM You can make an animation of my favorite scene in the series.
Alex Rosewater playing with a toy robot on his dining table. Post by: Yuko-san on April 08, 2010, 07:18:49 PM Dorothy moody and hitting roger with a mop... I think that would be funny. Or pero jumping through a hoop.
Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on April 09, 2010, 12:01:54 AM Good ideas, all. Wazpy's would be difficult. Yuko's... might just be the best one I've read so far.
On another note, Yuko, please translate the dialogue during the Big O Carameldansen! I'm dying to know what they say. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Yuko-san on April 09, 2010, 08:12:44 PM you got it. give me some time to translate it.
Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on April 21, 2010, 08:56:55 AM Yeah you get on that, Yuko! Good practice if nothing else, no?
In the meantime... LET THE CHIBI MADNESS... (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/Hourglass_Toss_Border.jpg) BEGIN! (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/Broken_Hourglass_Border.jpg) Hopefully I'll be able to bring you something for the next couple of days. We'll see how fast I can whip these out! Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Yuko-san on April 24, 2010, 08:05:31 PM hehe. cute and funny.
As for translations, I have my math final next week. so until then I won't be able to finish translating it till next week. I'll work on it, but I probably won't be able to finish it. Just to let you know. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Sharpshooter005 on May 01, 2010, 07:12:00 PM I have my math final next week. Fire. Thanks for the heads-up.
Alright, so I recently started a 10-hour, 6 days-a-week job, so I haven't had much time for chibirizing, but with diligence I have finished one. I did Yuko's request since it struck me as the most amusing, yet somewhat straightforward. (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/Mopchase_Final.gif) Should I make it smaller? My two favorite images are: (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/RogerDump-1.jpg) (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/DorothyBroom-1.jpg) Sorry for the lack of shading on the figures. I was in a hurry. In the near future, I will add 3 frames between each of the ones you see here. Once I've got the full 60 frames, then I'll add the shading. Possibly a background, too. Like the solarium. Quote Fire. Math is such an abominable hell-agent that the only thing it can understand is fire. Math is sexy.Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! I am literally LMAOing and running out of air. that is so awesome. Thank you. I'm working on the translation BTW. The kanji is throwing me off a bit. But other then that it seems that I've got the jest of it. Roger does not like Caramelaldansen, and I have no idea what iyaiyaiya means. But Roger yells that at the beginning. But everyone else will get theirs, eventually. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Yuko-san on May 04, 2010, 12:55:27 AM k. What is sharp up to? And a cthula appears! get me the shot gun quick!
Also just to be an idiot and hopes that I will eventually get to see this, I'd love to see a .gif of the old shock treatment from pikachu gag from the old pcf. The one where Dorothy owns a Pikachu and it shocks Beck. I have a copy of the .jpeg somewhere on my HD if you need it. I just so wanna see that because it used to make me laugh. And lets face it, Big O + pokemon would explain some stuff about the event. >.>'.... Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on July 12, 2010, 11:56:26 PM I dunno, Yuko. I had my chibi fun, now I'm moving on.
Oh wait... I just remembered. My next project is a Pokemon battle. lolz. Anyways, you should be excited to know that the 15-frame animation that you saw above is now a 60-frame animation. The difference is like night and day, no? Maybe not so much, since it's a tiny gif. I'll post a big, smooth swf soon. (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a294/AtomicRobot/Mopchase_Final-1.gif) So in return, Yuko, you better freakin produce a full translation of that Big O Carameldansen. Cuz I know you forgot. Also, I know that "iya" means "no," so "iyaiyaiya" must simply be, "nonono." Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Yuko-san on July 13, 2010, 08:31:22 PM Ok. And I didn't forget. I'm just busy with migraines right now.
Next month I'll be back in Japanese class. So I can get help from my teacher. Also For the most part I am done with it. Just have to translate what Angel is saying and tidy up what everyone else says. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Sharpshooter005 on July 19, 2010, 10:33:01 PM k. What is sharp up to? And a cthula appears! get me the shot gun quick! TL;DR immediate version is I was at an orientation for the college I'm transferring to last week, and just had nothing to say on here. Thank you for asking (you were hoping I died, admit it.) Its a long backstory so screw it. And Cthulu always appears, he's annoying like that. Nyarlathotep needs to take that cephalopod to school. Anyway, I'll start translating again in a day or two. And sharp I don't want you dead. I just wonder why you get drunk then go on internet tyraids is all. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Sharpshooter005 on July 22, 2010, 02:05:15 AM Quote And sharp I don't want you dead. I just wonder why you get drunk then go on internet tyraids is all. Why did Dr. Frankenstein create his monster. Because he could. (More importantly, where are the .gifs of norman dual-wielding insane firearms. I know that wasn't the point of this, but its a general question..theres .gifs of a bunch of stuff out there, nobody .gif'd up that part of big o.) Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on August 23, 2010, 06:34:48 PM I could easily make a gif of that. I should. It ain't off topic at all, yo.
YUKO! Translations, please. Between the time that I first asked and this time, I have taught myself about 150 Kanji characters. Maybe by the time you finally produce a translation, I will have done so myself!!! >:( Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Yuko-san on August 23, 2010, 07:52:05 PM Woops. Sorry. I did forget this time. I'll get on it tonite. And if you can wait till wensday I can ask my teacher the last few kanji I don't know.
I mainly need to clean up what everyone says at this point. After I get the last few kanji I don't know it'll be done. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Leonard Shelby on September 21, 2010, 01:39:26 AM You are great! Dorothy chasing Roger is wonderful!!! :D :D :D

And I do own a Kanji dictionary, but it only has 1000 out of 10000. I'll send you what I have, if you know the kanji then it should be easy for you to finish. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on November 09, 2010, 01:42:04 PM That's not really a kanji dictionary, then. I have a little learning book that I'm halfway through. NAKABA! but I don't call THAT a dictionary.
And please do send me the stuff. My e-mail should be in my profile or you could PM me. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. It's the request that someone... either Mike or Sharp or Wingnut, or Vogler... made, for a loop of Norman firing dual machine-guns. Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Yeah, I'm already making a new avatar for my next forum. Wingnut pointed up MechaTalk, and I'm moving there. I think my name will be Thermolysis. I might have already registered there, actually... I think I already looked at RPG.net, via TV Tropes. It looked more geared towards tabletop stuff, and not so much anime. Though I'm sure there are plenty of fans there. RPG.net looks like a massively wonderful playground for nerds, but not exactly my specialty. EDIT: Yep, it's Thermolysis. Without the two of us, I think the shop will officially close down. I took this forum off my bookmarks toolbar earlier today--if THAT doesn't signify something... This is unfortunate, as I have some friends reviewing my story. But I think the forum will continue to exist long enough for them to finish. Are you going to say anything to The Big Finale? Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: Randolf on February 22, 2011, 05:50:34 AM Finale's gone, as far as I can tell. He hasn't been on since... last year or more. Frankly, I don't think it matters; I can't say for sure, but my gut tells me he knew this place just wasn't worth his time anymore. If he needs some kind of confirmation for the forum to officially auto-destruct, he can ask me for it on his own time (and maybe Tifaria as well, if she's still anywhere in the vicinity by then).
I already deleted my bookmark to here a long time ago, and if you're leaving, R. Dan... well, fuck. Who's left? Yuko? Sharp? Maybe a few other dudes, but they'll live. We need not be miserable cunts any longer. Shall we, then? Title: Re: Suggest a Big-O .GIF! Post by: R. Daniel 01 on February 22, 2011, 06:11:43 AM lawl, well said.
Yeah I guess Yuko, Char, Sharp, and a lil' bit o' Graham. MAMBO NUMBER 5! I saw Wingnut hop on yesterday for just a blip. There is a pattern. The last forum I devoted any time to was SBO. The moment I climbed up into the top of the posting pyramid, the site was already dead and its web(mistress) didn't even bother recovering it from a virus attack (after making a lengthy announcement in a thread about how Big O was, for real, guys, forever going to be a part of her life). Here, I'm hundreds of posts ahead of almost everyone else, and once again the curtain closes. This either means I have the death-touch, or that I cling to certain things. Big O was my gateway anime, after all. You're an amiable fellow. You know where to reach me. And unlike some people who change their addresses and don't leave contact information, I cling to mine. ;) Actually, I'll still be lurking around, at least until I take down my story.
