Title: NANA
Post by: R. Daniel 01 on March 02, 2008, 10:21:19 PM
I've lost the right to call myself a man.

I've watched all 47 episodes of the entire first season, often on the edge of my seat. Tissues were occasionally needed. And now I NEED to see the second season when it arrives. There must be closure. MUST!

Has anyone else watched the series or read the manga? I need to complain about a couple characters. And discuss the show, because it drew me in with its complex relationships and it made me think.

You said it, not me.

I've read the first three volumes of the manga, have volume five, and waiting on volume four.

So far, seems like a pretty interesting shoujo/josei, but I can't say if I really like it at this point.

Yeah. Using self-deprecating humor around you isn't a good idea.

Hmm. What was the last thing that happened in the manga you've read? I need to know what's safe to talk about.

I'm definitely not a fan of comic books, graphic novels or manga, and I definitely wouldn't've bothered picking up NANA. A story like that is all about the plot, not the art, and so I'd rather have the story fed to me through a screen. But after having seen the first season... I would pick up a NANA manga if it was in front of me.

Volume 3 ends with Sachiko, the girl ditzy Nana's boyfriend had been cheating on her with, meeting the Nanas and breaking up with Shoji. There isn't really much for me to discuss.

If you do start reading the manga, be careful. It can be an even more addictive hobby than anime.
