I've been pushing myself to get back into video gaming again, and I've got a Steam account. I might have to give this a shot. Thanks, Wazpy.

Fast forward to December 2014...
I probably should go back to the old kitbashes and finish them. I actually got pretty far. I made Siamese-twin figures out of two generic "Pacific Rim"-like robot figures. I picked up a couple dollar-store Gundam Mobile Suit figures, and plan to repaint and/or modify at least one for a friend. I found two more fake Transformers, and I'll attempting to modify them soon. I've picked out 3 legit Transformer toys, to modify into other characters - well, soon. I believe I have sufficient tools, paint, and raw materials. What I really need, though, is time. Not much of that these days... |

I finally saw a cheap wind-up robot this Fall, then I gave it to a sick friend, and had to go buy another. I bought a "Lazerbot" (i.e. a cheap Gundam Mobile Suit) at a dollar store a few weeks ago - and another for another friend. I've bought several Transformers figures since joining - and I've owned several before joining. I created custom "figures", Rack 'N' Ruin (siamese-twin robots), in early Fall. A couple/few weeks ago, I was perusing anime on Youtube, and went back to watch/decipher some of the early Big-O episodes. I also watched one The Big O "abridged" series - not a great series, but OK. I recently went back to watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Then I thought about this board, and our great conversations. And then a great last topic for 2014 just hit me... For The Big O Fans that love the robot/(big robot) aspect - what got really got you interested in robot series/anime/cartoons/movies/etc.?
For me, I think it was Star Wars. Granted, I used to watch Lost in Space before I ever saw Star Wars, but there was something about R2-D2 and C-3PO that just fascinated me. However, as far as "Big Robot/Monster" series go, it would be Ultraman. Some scenes from The Big O remind me of Ultraman. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year! |

That's really cool! Nice find!
What are some of the Big O quotes they use? |

I figured I'd post here since Big O news has been pretty nonexistant for the past... decade.
There's a fighting game called Skullgirls that has a new character coming out who's partially based on Big O. He's got the piston punch, uses some Big O quotes, and has a Big O color palate (on the right). His name is Big Band. Pick it up if you have Steam. It's an awesome game. |

Go ahead and post here anyway. By now news of Big O might be going under many radars.

Unfortunately, there haven't been any more details announced, aside from the titles in this deal.
Sunrise also announced Sentai had Overman King Gainer, but it hasn't been confirmed by Sentai, so maybe it went to one of their other labels instead. I'll try to post in this thread if any more details come out, but I suspect people will be getting the news more quickly elsewhere. |

Unfortunately, the forum isn't frequented as often anymore, but I see people around every so often.
That is a great find though! Sentai Filmworks certainly seems excited to replay shows like the Big O. I think it's cool that people in the comments were happy too. I don't know exactly what it means to "bring these shows back to prominence," but it is nice to see that there is some interest. Have they released any details since August? Please keep us updated! |

Announcement
So, not sure if anyone else even visits this forum anymore, but Sentai Filmworks announced they picked up both seasons of The Big O, along with a few other former Bandai titles from Sunrise. No details have been released, but finally getting a Blu-ray for this would be very nice. |
