The influence's in Big O

title.
So anyway, we all know Big O was influenced by Batman and Gundam. In fact the animators of the 1998 batman cartoon where hired to help animate Big O. And the Gundam influence is hard to miss, seeing as Big O sorta looks like a lot of different models throw together.
But what about the hardly noticed influence's? How many of you actually noticed that the creators included famous American literary works? Or that Paradigm is like a 1950's cold war state and Gundam satellite mixed together over New York's Manhattan Island? I'm guessing not to many of you.
So I figured I'd point out all the influences I've noticed and we can talk 'bout it. I'm also going to point out if characters from Big O fit roles from other sources.
Here is what I have noticed so far:
Wizard of Oz
Alice in Wonderland
Steam Punk (genre)
Nightmare Before Christmas
Issac Asimov
late 1940's America
1950's America
Disney (genre)
there are more but I can't remember them all. so anyway on to how Big O has all these influence's within.
1945-1950's America- notice how many people in Paradigm city seem to feel like doom is around the corner? This is best demonstrated in Act 16, when part of the international space station (actually it's part of the Russian corridor of the space station, which further insinuates that Paradigm is like an alternate 1940-1950's reality), which then every one ends up thinking it an angel and that the worlds ending. Also notice in Act 25-26 the "divine thunder" which turns out to be spot lights, but I digress, also insinuates the Cold War feeling. Also all clothing seen in the series is circa 1950's.
(side notes) This Cold War feeling can be further seen in Act 22 when Dorothy explains her father was afraid of something, but was never sure what that "something" was. In the back ground you can see bunker walls, with bunks every so many feet, and shelves next to each one. I wonder why the bunker was on the top floor though.
Issac Asimov- he was one of the first science fiction writers to believe robots would gain sentience after his time. All the human sized robots within the series fulfill his prediction.
Wizard of Oz- as it will take to long to fully explain it, I'm going to list characters from the book and list there anime counterparts.
Dorothy- R.Dorothy
Tin Man- R.Dorothy/Insturo/O'reily
Wizard of Oz- Gordon Rosewater
Wicked Witch- Alex Rosewater/Vera Roshdant
Lion- Angel
Scarecrow- Roger Smith (you thought this too at one point)
Flying Monkeys (winkes)- the union
Alice in wonderland
Cheshire cat- Alan/ Pero
Queen of Hearts- Vera
Card Soldiers- the union
Alice- Angel (in looks)/ Dorothy (in curiosity)
Mad Hatter- Alan
Nightmare Before Christmas
Jack Skellington- Alan
Sally- Angel/ Dorothy (similar in many ways to Sally. Both are built by scientists and have feelings for someone they can't have.)
Dr. Freakinstein- Dr. Waynewright (der)
this is what I have noticed thus far. feel free to point out what I haven't already.
