My next long-term project will be an animated, interactive guide to the Second World War.

Before I start, of course, there's going to be a lot of compelling reading. These are notable examples just from the first few days of reading:

At Dunkirk:
British Engineers build jetties out of trucks they drove into the sea. Jetties. Out of trucks.

At Arras:
Lord Gort, all-around badass of the British Army, takes a bunch of light tanks and battered French tanks, and smashes into a Panzer group. The sheer audacity breaks the momentum of the Blitz in the West and sows the seeds for Dunkirk. The effect left Rommel and the Death's Head division stopped in their tracks with their mouths open.

May 28, 1940:
Emergency evacuation of a British Admiral accomplished with a flashlight and a fishing boat.

Départment of Aisne:
Though ineffective, in the midst of a chaotic armor battle, Guderian orders some men to grab nearby abandoned French light field artillery and fire directly on French Char-B tanks at close range.

No one was as bad ass as the Swedish. Charging tanks with spears and Javelins on horse back. You can never be more bad assed.

Also did ya here about the French rifle that sold on ebay? Never fired and only dropped once.
Lame pun is lame.

Did it work though? Cause otherwise it's kind of just crazy.

Nope. Most of them got shot at and died. However it did scare the crap outta some Nazi's. The ones on foot ran for their lives in fear of being impaled on a giant stick. Some of the ones in tanks actually backed the tanks up.

Lets face it, if a bunch of people riding horses screaming at the top of their lungs "Die you infernal bastards" come chasing after you, you'd be running too.
