...is a ridiculously good game. Kind of reminds me of Doom 3 in some ways but more awesome.

I have it!  Grin

Some of the Big Daddys can be really hard to kill. I like to set up a room with a lot of trap bolts and proxy mines and lure them into it. That usually softens them up enough so I can finish them off with some rounds from the tommy gun.

It took me a while to figure out that there's no reason to kill a Big Daddy if there's no Little Sister following it. The map said I still had one more Little Sister to find, so I killed the first Big Daddy I saw....and got nothing out of it.

My strategy is to rely on Vita-Chambers and exploding/electric buckshot. Combined with the shotgun damage upgrade kicks their asses. So do armor-piercing tommy gun bullets and the grenade launcher with the damage upgrade works really well, too.

Another thing I like to do is to wait for him to go to a hidey-hole and then surround it with proximity mines. You can take a bunch of his health off before he even gets a chance to hit you, especially if it's a Bouncer.

This game is insane and I love it! I love the animated sequence on the main menu where it shows you fighting a Big Daddy (I cringe everytime I see the bouncer drilling through your hand)

I don't remember there being a animated sequence like that in the main menu.

Did you get it for Xbox 360 or PC?

I tried to get this for the PC, but my computer couldn't really handle the demo all that well, and also terribly copy protection. So 360 it was then.

Bioshock is awesome. Nuff said. Though, it does have it's fair share of flaws; repetitive, generic enemies, a research system that kind of sucks, vita chambers, a hacking mini-game that took far too long to work properly, and a story that, had you played it's predecessor System Shock Two, you would already know half the twists to.

I hate to sound like a fanboy, but it's pretty much an inferior System Shock 2 with pretty graphics and a few of the more annoying aspects of SS2 replaced with all new annoying aspects. Also: WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF VALUE.

Man, I'm sounding really bitter about this, but I enjoyed the game? What the heck?

In any case, at the very least it's a game that attempts to tackle a heavier philosophical concept that 'teen angst and minor existentialism.' Even if Objectivism is also still pretty much a solely 'younger mans folly' style of philosophical thought.

If you did enjoy the game however, I advise you to check out System Shock 2 (as well as the fan released graphical updates for it). I don't think it's abandon ware, but you can usually find it online pretty easily, as well as fairly cheap on Ebay or whatever.
