Overclocking was usually a safe venture as long as you respected engineering tolerances. Believe it or not, the 9600XT overdrive mode was actually manufacturer- and ATi-approved overclocking, due to sensors on the card automatically controlling the overclock. The card would "throttle" the GPU at whatever speed would keep the temperature sensors happy.

I can understand why others would want to overclock, just not something I'd do myself. Component manufacturers do seem a lot more open to overclockers. When I was shopping for a new mobo, many of the high end models seemed to boast a number of oc-centric features.

Bought a new keyboard, and a couple compact discs, the other day from Amazon. The keyboard was a bit expensive, but it should be nice having the Control and Escapes keys in the correct location.

I was given a shirt. It seems a nice shirt.

Does it cover your shame? 'Cause I think that's all a shirt has to do to be functional.

^lol.

I'm hopefully going to have enough chore money from doing chores for my grandparents to buy OOT 3ds this weekend. My grandpa said he'd give me $30 by the end of the week if I work for more then 1 hour every day till Friday. I worked for 1hr 30min today.

usually my grandpa does everything around the house, but he had surgery last week and can't do much without being in lots of pain. So I have a money making opportunity, and I'm taking it.

^Awesome Yuko! Have fun! I mean...with runescape...

^It's still nice to help out your grandparents, too. I mean, I know grandparents don't need reasons to give gifts, but this money will have more meaning, since you earned it making them happy, and keeping their house nice. OOT 3DS looks really cool!

Bought a new keyboard, and a couple compact discs, the other day from Amazon. The keyboard was a bit expensive, but it should be nice having the Control and Escapes keys in the correct location.

I hate the "economized" ones, too. The ones with the "Insert" block of keys misplaced are no fun at all.

To cover shame? Nah, I think you need a good pair of cheap sunglasses for that... A nice shirt is still nice, though...

I got a replacement laptop power adapter (1st one only lasted 3 years), discounted tickets to the movie Bridemaids for my wife and I, two hot dogs (for my dinner), popcorn (for her), and a big Sprite (to split). Why get dinner at the theater for me? Because after Bridesmaids, I walked across the hall to use my free Green Lantern pass, and barely got admitted. Free, and 3-D, too! My wife was happy too, since we drove down separately, and she, not being a fan, could still go home. Now, it looks like my desktop is rebelling against it's inexpensive power supply - I guess I'll order this next...

haha, lol. I'm going to buy a 90 day rs card in a week. you get 5 extra days and a free weapon for buying one from gamestop. My grandma surprised me today. She told me I remind her of her father, whom myself, my mom and grandma look like. I also have his eyes and humor. I never knew him, he died before my mother graduated high school, so at least a decade before I was born. That took me by surprise, seeing as I never knew him. My grandma also said she wished she could just give me the money, but times are tough. I looked at her and said if she just gave it to me that would make me spoiled, and if I earned it it would mean more. Plus I'm not some spoiled brat, I expect to have to work for my money, not get it for nothing.

I got Kill Zone Liberation for free from the welcome back playstation program. it's fun.

Honestly, I'd never given much thought to keyboards or keyboard layouts before. I've been using Linux enough that the Esc and Ctrl keys are actually useful, and it makes a world of difference having them closer to the original locations. This store has some good pics of the layout.

I guess you've got a point. I've never been one for sunglasses though. Probably has something to do with needing prescription glasses.

Only after several keystrokes can you really see the strengths/weaknesses of the keyboards. For example, my wife's PC is name brand, and has the "Insert" key block issue I mentioned before. Mine is a wired (i.e. old - 2001) Logitech Internet Navigator, which has good tactile feel, but somewhat bad angle, and half-height F-keys and Esc. However, it has lots of fun buttons.

That layout reminds me of the The Ultimate LAN Rig article. This PC was was at one of our LAN parties.
I think we had 13 PC's connected via router/switch combo, playing Q3 and MoH (except for one name-brand one, with same NIC as mine, that would not network - never did solve that one...). Good times.

Prescription glasses? Well no wonder... Glasses=cool (Abel Nightroad-Trinity Blood, Vash the Stampede-Trigun, Jin-Samurai Champloo, Kamina-Gurren Lagann, Archibald Witwicky-Transformers, James T. Kirk-Star Trek, Hank McCoy - X-Men, Max Sterling-Robotech, Ben Franklin, Weird Al-well,he used to at least, Donnie Iris-still does, and several others). So, there's basically no shame for you to hide...

I needed buy a new coffee maker...

That's actually pretty awesome, especially for 2002. I've never had much use for media keys, and even my last keyboard didn't have anything like that, but I will agree that keyboard angle is incredibly important. Not having a Caps Lock indicator can be occasionally frustrating, and I do miss the numpad occasionally; thought I had one somewhere, but I guess not.

Just bought some books for summer classes, and a new pair of earbuds.

Do you have a microwave.

If so you already have one, at a certain point...the caffeine has to get into your system (they've proven it is chemically addictive) and that thing can do it rapidly.

Do the caffeine pills taste of Chocolate?
Books, because 1/2 priced books is fun. Also the first season of Inuyasha. Childhood was calling me.
