Sometime between 10:30 and 11 PM Eastern, there will be a farewell message.

The last thing broadcast under the Toonami name will be Samurai Jack Episode XXVI: Jack's Sandals.

End of an era.

My childhood just imploded. Wow. 11 years of Toonami, and it's over.

For as long as it lasts I found the broadcast on YouTube. This sucks, because the revamped relatively recently with the new TOM4.0... According to Wikipedia (which I will soon try to verify this) Anime will now fall under Adult Swim control... which means that Anime on cartoon network is pretty much doomed.

Holy crap, I had no idea. I'm guessing stuff like Naruto is going to adult swim or are they dropping it all together? If they are, it doesn't surprise me.

I guess it was already on its way out when they stopped showing it every day.

They just brought Samurai Jack back too.  Sad

I remember re-watching those on YouTube 2 weeks ago. If I remember correctly I think I also helped vote on the new engines for the Absolution when The Intruder was first broadcast.

Also, just bought the Toonami Soundtrack "Deep Space Bass" off of Amazon... because of awesome music.

I can already see Mike Lazzo gearing any anime that might show up on AS for an abysmal time slot, and bumps that treat their fans like crap.

I'm gonna miss Toonami though, I have a ton of good memories. It also helped many-a-fan get interested in anime.

I'm going to venture it's because the ratings have been bad, plus they probably did market research that suggested that Tom wasn't as "hip" or "cool" as some jibber-jabber for whatever new block they'll have.

I recall that there is/was something called Miguzi, and that there's to be a new block in January or such.

I too remember voting on the Absolution's new engines, and playing to save the Absolution from the tractor beam.

No idea why Toonami was canceled.... most likely ratings, but then again instead of pulling it they should just pull out a time machine. Old Formula = Better.

Miguzi... Started April 19th 2004 and ran until June 1st 2007.  Miguzi (like Toonami) is no more.

What shocked me is that Williams Street, the bastards that didn't get Big O a third season and pretty much dislike anime in general WERE IN CHARGE of Toonami and Miguzi. That really makes me ponder schitzophrenia.

I have a feeling it might have been rating as well, but honestly with Mike Lazzo and Williams Street in general it could have been any number of reasons. What I don't understand about Mike and WS, is they clearly dislike anime in general, yet still get a few new shows like Moribito and then throw them in ungodly time slots for premiere episodes and wonder why no one is watching. Speaking of rating, I'm glad Bleach keeps pulling in good numbers on Saturdays, came in 1st 2 weeks so far.

I remember that. Big O pulled in 800k to a Million viewers with new episodes premiere and pretty much murdered new episodes of ATHF, pretty much any comedy for that matter, and Mike and WS simply can't have that, so the average DVD sales and "low" rating excuses they pulled, I always called BS on that.

Same here, and I can even recall that the design I voted for did not win. The DOKs were one of the coolest and most powerful robots for their size too. A upgradeable beam gun on the right arm, and a projectile launcher on the left. I usually went with the large size mech and medium gun and tanked my way through the game.
Damn that was fun.

Ahh!!! Jack was back! I hate working on Saturdays...

Except this past saturday. I ditched work for a concert of 29 bands.

lots of local ones, but aside from that, Story of the Year, Ludo, Saving Abel, Apocalyptica, Bullet for My Valentine, Puddle of Mudd (Who autographed my ticket), Shinedown, and Seether. Avenged Sevenfold was supposed to be there, but the lead singer got L...uhh..I can't spell it...Leringitis or however it's spelled *can't find dictionary in messy basement*...

...It was epic. I got an Apocalyptica shirt.

Yeah, I remember that night when I watched the Big O for the first time. The first episode that I saw was The Call from the Past. Good times.
