As awesome as real life mecha would be, I doubt something Gundam sized would work, however something similar to the Wanzers in Front Mission I could see being viable.

As awesome as real life mecha would be, I doubt something Gundam sized would work, however something similar to the Wanzers in Front Mission I could see being viable.

It could walk around a bit. They made it into a regular statue later. It isn't as big as it would be if the ratios were the same as in the animes, of course.

No, this would fall under the sketchy, "cute kids, come onto my lawn" scenarios. You can't build a giant interactive toy statue and expect kids to keep their distance...
