Also, I bet the creators would say he's 3/4th's Japanese or something. Sometimes the guys up top will make sure to state that cool, but non-Japanesey characters have a Japanese parent. Examples include Solid Snake and Ken from Street Fighter.

And yet they completely adore Lupin the Third, who's French, and Daisuke Jigen who (despite the name) is apparently American. Japanese are wierd like that  Spike looks Jewish because of that big Jew-fro. Of course... Jewish isn't really a race... You call these bagels? bell peppers and beef? |

I always assumed they were supposed to be Japanese, and I still do. Unless it's specifically stated that a character was born in a different country, they're Japanese. I don't care if they have blond hair and blue eyes. They're Japanese. |

Spike isn't Jewish, the creators choose his name cause it sounded "cool", which is the case with a lot of what Japan does. As far as Jigen is goes, it is my understanding that he was a mobster in American (which city varies) and fled to Japan, hence the Japanese name. Also, I bet the creators would say he's 3/4th's Japanese or something. Sometimes the guys up top will make sure to state that cool, but non-Japanesey characters have a Japanese parent.
