If you could pilot a megadues or a different mecha, what would it be and why?

I think I have two choices:

RX-93 nu Gundam. Pretty much the pinnacle of UC Gundam development, plus it was the final suit piloted by Amuro Ray. And it has fin-funnels that you can order to go off and do the killing for you. Who cares if I'm not a Newtype. Nobody else is, either.

VF-1S Valkyrie. Transforming mecha = win, even if they are super-impractical. Plus it can fly. Nu Gundam could probably only jump good if it was in atmosphere.

Megadeuses tend to be gorgeous. I would feel super-classy piloting one. However, even though they have deluxe luxury features, they are very huge and often lumbering. So, they're the Rolls Royces of giant robots. They're robots for those special occasions.

I would much rather take something closer to human size. Even if it can't outrun a massive megadeus, it would at least give me a sensation of speed. On top of that, going against a Megadeus as a small mech could have a fun Shadow of the Colossus feel.

I bet most people would say that speed ranks high on their list of desired attributes.

Not really from an anime, but my ride of choice would probably be a Bushwacker (battletech).

Hmm....so many mechs...

well, Piloting a Medium AC would be nice...and extremely customizable...

Or maybe something like the TimberWolf MKII from CBT/Mechwarrior...for those of you who don't know the older stuff, that's also more recently known as the MadCat.

Or Wing Gundam Zero...

Or the Geloog S...

Although I'm a Big O kinda guy, I feel out of sheer practicality either Big Fau or Big Duo would be my mainstays... (not getting into custom builds like Big Band or Big Zenigata). The main thing is getting around. Big O works for Paradigm City because it can walk anywhere or have the Prairie Dog transport it underground... without subways under my town I think a flying or sea-based Big would be best. Unfortunately, if I were to choose Big Duo it's have to be Big Duo Inferno... get rid of the possibly self-killin Megaton Bombs and use the Eye Helix Beam.

I'd have to go with Big Duo.

Flight is an absolute must, and as R. Daniel said, Megadei are classy.

Yes, I'd be going with Big Duo Inferno as well. It's one of my favorite designs of the Megadeus, and it's ability to fly is a must for me.

Yeah, but if you aren't a Newtype, you can't control the psychoframe and the ability to use the funnels. And since nobody else is, there isn't a reason to have the psychoframe until we have some Newtypes around.

I'd pick Big Duo, with Big Duo Inferno's arms and Eye Beam.  Best of both worlds there.
