Yeah, I'm looking at spending about $61 or so on my first star for the Chaos Viper mercenary faction I'm going to throw together, consisting of a Timberwolf MKII (MatCat for those who take to Inner Sphere...), an Atlas, a Dire Wolf (Daishi...), a Nova (Black Hawk), and an Uziel [IIC], plus potentially a DropShip. Then money for the paints...

Mechwarrior 4 should be released for free pretty soon.

Mektek has stated that the game is pretty much ready to go and the only thing delaying it is that there are a few legal things to sort out still with Smith and Tinker still.

They've also come up with an application called MTX which should make the installation of the game and it's mods much easier, which is good because Mechwarrior 4 isn't exactly as mod friendly as more modern games so installing mods is often more of a pain in the ass than it should be.

Yeah, I'm waiting for it, so I can download it. I'm still debating on if I'm going to buy the new MW for PC or 360...I might just do both...

This machine has undergone numerous refinements.

Marik is especially eggregious.
Quite the contrary. While it is true that I do have a great lack of trust for the Inner Sphere, Marik seems, according to holo-archives, to be the most honorable to its people.

Ah. Excellent, so I chose well. If they're most honorable, though, then why does Marik have so many problems? Hmm.

Or perhaps a hill a bit too steep for any vehicle that isn't a bipedal BattleMech or the Quad Tarantula?

Exactly.

PC takes priority! At least, for me.

They made mods for MW4? All over that. Keep us posted, Paul.

So, latest update I heard: S&T are wrapped up with the creators of Robotech. Why? Same reason FASA was: the Warhammer design. Apparently it looks like some Robotech mech, but I don't remember. I'd have to go back and watch it again.

That one is what FASA copied for the Warhammer. It's a shame they can't use it cause it looks really bad-ass.

It's from Macross. I forget if the beef was with the Robotech people or the Japanese people who created Macross.

Yep. It is badass. That and the Marauder design. But...there are a few things about the MW warhammer...like the Macross has (as seen) more mobile arms. I've never seen a Battlemech Warhammer with arms down.

And from what I've been seeing, Robotech and Macross are pretty much the same thing, but that's just light looking before passing out at some hour of the morning.

The Mektek guys are going to be meeting with the Smith and Tinker people to finalize the Mechwarrior 4 agreement sometime around Thanksgiving and the release will come shortly afterwards if all goes well.

MechCommander 2 is apparently legitimately a free game you can just arbitrarily go download, and I use even the flimsiest of pretexts to remind anybody, regardless of if they care or don't, of this fact because it seemed pretty neat.

http://megamek.sourceforge.net

there's a computer version of the Battletech Tabletop game on there. I'm running .34 stable, not the .34 stable update (yet, update isn't listed as stable). Still trying to figure out how to get custom builds to run on it, but I just started using it last night, before I went to bed. I'll have more time to play with it tonight.
