Well, if they're particularly tough, or say, demonically possessed, a .45 ACP might be necessary. Other than that, you should never need a .50 cal pistol. It' just unnecessary and it has no class, besides. Those old snub-nosed .38 special revolvers, though? That's class.

Wait, I thought .357 hit harder than .45ACP because it was a longer cartridge with more powder and came out of the barrel faster, despite being a smaller slug.
