Tomorrow (January 2nd), it will be seven years to the day that Season Two finished its run.

Even though the happy spirit of the title is a little ironic, I'm not a cynic. A few weeks ago, my little sister (she's a high schooler) informed me that a boy in her class was doodling Big O in his notebook. Days after that, she reported that at least three of her friends like the show. Now she's watching my DVD's and passing them onto her friends. There is hope for the future.

That sucks. Why, was it middle school or something?

If I'd seen Big O back then, I probably would've gotten into anime much earlier. Big O is reassuringly Western on the surface, but still different enough to open minds.

Bonus points:
Apparently, my sister wants to be Dorothy for Halloween. Being an older sibling is so gratifying.

The Event of 7 Years Ago...

I remember rediscovering Big O in the summer of '03... catching the last 3 minutes of Act 14. Prompting me to search up more about the show, leading me to PCF. The same summer I fell became a fan of Anime, too. Ahhh... those were the days.

Few shows or series have had me on edge for the next episode like Big O did during the Fall of 2003. The only two series I can think of that had similar rabid "I can't wait for the next episode" response for me were Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and web-original There Will Be Brawl.

No, it was High School, near the end of my medicated days. After years of medications and increased doses and more increased doses, I don't remember a whole lot of what happened when...then a Narc came to my school, talked about the symptoms of Meth, and I had them off of Methylphenadate (generic Ritilin) so I flipped out and took myself off of all medications except Painkillers and Caffeine pills...and occasionally sleeping pills.

Wow seven years? I was in 7th grade back then. Now I'm in college and have little time for anime watching.

June 19th is the premiere episode of 12 oz mouse's five year anniversary.

I consider this a religious holiday
