00 is pretty bad ass. I just saw the first episode. The Gundams aren't nearly as godly-powerful as they've been portrayed before. The other flying MS are really scrawny and actually have wings, so it looks just a little bit more plausible.
Plus, the characters so far are mostly without teenage angst. Another huge, huge bonus.
I agree Mike, I saw the first episode as well, I have to admit, I was very impressed. The mecha get points for being different. I hope the flow keeps a good pace. The teamwork between the Gundam pilots was another nice change, and so far it hasn't gone near Wings, "Grab uber weapon, and pwn 100+ MS's". |

However, great as MS Gundam was, and Gundam X, or G Gundam...
No Gundam series will ever win my heart as well as Gundam MS 08th Team did.

Episode 2 of 00 was pretty was pretty awesome. Nice mecha action, and character development, something the past AU's never matched, well except X and Graham is a nice nice change from the run of the mill masked guy that is interested in the Gundam.

Yes, Vegeta, you bloody genius you!  It was particularly exciting to see the only part i ever missed, where he finally told rain he loved her, the freaking idiot denying it for so long. I loved the way the gundums were controlled in this series, instead of the usual sit down and man the controls methods. I just remembered about this gundum i went to see in japan that a man built by himself. I'll try to find a picture.

G Gundam had other epic win moments like that, but you can find them yourself. Anyway, there is a boxed set I should order sometime... Seriously, that show just kicked so much ass.

I suspect Domon's rear end being shown during the seequence where he puts on the mobile trace suit might have a part in that. |
