I think the first Gundam show I saw was Wing, this was after I heard of the whole franchise cause of models and stuff. I was amazingly underwhelmed by Wing, later I saw 08MST and was blown away, and 0083 was really good too, even if the ending is weird.

Right on, Mike. I'm fully of the opinion that the two greatest Mobile Suit series are Gundam O8th MS Team and Gundam SD Force.

Zeta. You must partake of the Zeta Gundam. It is awesome.
that reminds me, I want to see the three Zeta movies. And finish watching the original series movies.

I'll give it a check, Mike. Why? Is it like 08 MST? Because I have to say, the biggest draw for me was how they treated the Gundams basically like giant-sized infantry.

Not really. It was the direct sequel to the original series, so it's more like that, but with better quality animation.
A lot of it happens in space, plus there's transforming MS.

Basically, it's 0087, the Federation has grown corrupt and is controlled by the Titans, a force originally meant to find leftover Zeons but now they're extremely oppressive, so a bunch of old Feddie and Zeon guys form a new group to fight them.
The mecha aren't quite treated like giant infantry, more like humanoid fighter jets.

Oh yeah, there's Newtypes, too. Lots of Newtypes. Which 08MST has none of.

Isn't that kind of like Gundam X? From what I saw of Gundam X, the Gundams and Zaku types alike were so heavily modded they looked like G Gundam stuff.

Gundam X is an alternate universe, where at the end of the war the Zeon-like faction dropped a ton of colonies on the Earth.

It was made after G-Gundam, and the designs are kind of like UC designs. Gundam X is really good, you should look into it.

Well seems like they released some new info on Gundam 00.

The union has a new MS called the Realdo, more than likely and "older" model similar to the AEU's Hellion.

They where right when they said the Tieren would have alot of variations as they annouced the Tieren Long Range Shooting type, making a total of 4 variations already.

Also announced some new characters.

I don't know 00 seems to be shaping up ok, better than both SEED's, the ONA, and now the movie.

well, a new month, a new Gundam 00 trailer. Take a look for yourself.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWKB1waAG_E

upon viewing this trailer, I'm getting "Wing Syndrome", meaning it seems the Gundam are way way to over powered, however given the fact this is an AU, this doesn't surprise me much. and what the heck is with that RX-78 looking Gundam near the end with it's weird Eva like wings. I'm not so sure what to make of this.

Well they did have beam wings in V-Gundam, so that's not THAT weird. Maybe it's some kind of hyper-mode, or just a lighting trick they used to make it look extra-super-bad ass.

Nothing major to report on 00 as of yet but here's the Hellion.

Update:
The big clunky mecha seen in one of the T.V spots is called Amph. It's more than likely a Peoples Reform League suit give the way it looks.

That looks like Rocket Metal Sonic from Sonic the Fighters.
Euan the Echidhog's Rocket Metal Sonic

All credit to that artist's work. Also, Mobile Fighter G Gundam. I so want to get this show but I cannot find it anywhere. Likely the only nonrealistic mecha anime I like.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam

The two Anime Legends sets would probably be your best bet.

Oh, and G Gundam was the only Gundam series I can recall ever really getting into.

I hated -HATED- G Gundam at first. Probably because the American guy was a casserole or stereotypes. Also it seemed less like Mobile Suit Gundam and more like DBZ. With giant robots. It took a while for me to catch on to it but it ended up ruling. Way better than Wing or the abortion that was SEED.

G Gundam wasn't to bad although it was indeed more like DBZ with moblie suits, even down to the predictable battles. Although oddly enough Chibodee Croket was my fave. character.

Wing was pretty meh as well, it forced the whole "War is bad" crap on you all the time and every chance they got.

X was just plain awesome.

SEED suffered because Chiaki Morosawa can't write a script to save her life, and character development was almost non-existent, and the use of pointless clip shows, one of which was a shameless excuse to promote T.M Revolutions newest single. Destiny wasn't any better in fact, it was about 10x's worse. Changing the main character half way threw back to Kira, simply because he was more popular was equally lame and Merr Campbell needing to crank out sugary J-Pop every time she was on screen was pretty pointless.

00 is pretty bad ass. I just saw the first episode. The Gundams aren't nearly as godly-powerful as they've been portrayed before. The other flying MS are really scrawny and actually have wings, so it looks just a little bit more plausible.

Plus, the characters so far are mostly without teenage angst. Another huge, huge bonus.
