Just got threw watching episode 3 of 00 and it's still a very solid show. While it has been compared to Wing, the two shows are worlds apart. Can't wait for episode 4.

Oddly enough, I've never seen a single episode of Gundam or even a commercial for it. Darn TV networks.

However, I've seen tons of Gundam mecha, which has made me curious about these series. The next time
there's a lull in the action (not often these days, but I still get a few breaks here and there), I'll have to delve into these.

Oh God...oh God...must resist urge to fully geek out and totally explain Gundam.....
Anyway it's mostly good, some meh, some suicidally lame.
And there's a TON of Gundam stuff out there.

Replace "Japan" with "Ireland" and you would be right.

Some neat Mecha. design works.

Exia Variation.

Also info on the 00F side story.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00F
Mecha:
GNY-001 Gundam Astraea
A proto-unit in the Gundam Exia lineage. Has the name of the goddess of justice depicted on the justice tarot card. Equipped with a mask for hiding the fact that it is a Gundam.
Design by Kanetake Ebikawa

GNY-004 Gundam Plutone
A Gundam proto-unit. Has the name "Pluto" from the "judgment" tarot card. Appears as though it has a function corresponding to its card meaning of "rebirth, change". Judging by the model number, was it discontinued during development? It seems to have a (?) connection with Chall in the past.
Design by Takayuki Yanase

Characters:
Chall Acoustica
Fon Spark

Was Katoki involved with this show at all? These designs are all very Katoki-ish, with the small torso, long legs, and wings and stuff.

As far as I know, Katoki isn't part of 00's mecha designs, although I do admit it does look like one of his designs.

00 is wonderful. More so than 08th MS squad, even.

The designs all look functional to me but are still impressive. You'll notice little details that the animators put in, giving life even to mass-production models.

It's only been three episodes, so the fights don't involve long spans of stock footage (yet?). They've been intense and to-the-point. So far, they've all been important.

The political situation is clearly defined. It vaguely reflects our times, which I always enjoy.

Best of all, best of all, the characters say some interesting things. And the writers keep self-righteousness to a minimum! It even has some parts that are a little funny, and they don't feel forced. Talk about a rarity.

I'm not a Gundam fan, but I'm definitely a fan of Gundam 00. Y'all would be well-served go to realitylapse and snatch the first three episodes.

00 is BETTER than MS 08th Team? This I have to see. You have sparked my interest.

Call me crazy but, I'm def. liking 00 a good deal more than a few of the U.C shows, and it's easily the best A.U next to X. I'm really hoping they keep up the pace. And on that note, I enjoyed the heck outta episode 4, Graham's black flag is a monster.
