Would it be terrible to double-post?

Just saw a bit more of 8th MS Team.

Damn. THIS is the stuff. I'm loving everything about it.

It seems aimed at an older audience. Does anybody know who/what was behind 8th MS Team to make it that way? Like, who made the initial decision? Are there any plans to make a spiritual successor to the series?

Sadly, the UC universe has been abandoned in favor of the AU time lines, but a new 08th would rock, or a new OYW OVA in general, although chances are slim to none.

Seems like the Anf has it's own fair share of variants, the Fanton.

Also after view episodes 23 and 24, wow CB, got their asses handed too them, and I'll leave it at that. Good thing Graham is still kicking though.

Also the episode 25, the fight between Grahams Flag and Soran's Exia was nice, and damn, it's gonna be LONG 6 months before the new season, dang.

For ALL you Gundam fans, I have found the ultimate gundam tribute (I think so anyway.)
Gundams Built out of Legos. I'm posting some links for people like me who happen to have lots of old legos laying around.

Small links are good

I don't know what series their from, I just know thatr these sites have instructions on how to build a gundam.

I'm working my way through Wing right now, and it goes against the grain somewhat but I actually kind of like it; I'm prepared to forgive the writers the Mary-Sueism of the Gundams because A: they do offer a partial explanation -it's strongly hinted when we first encounter the Tallgeese that the Alliance are only in this mess because they bought all their mobile suits from the cheapest bidder- and B: they also compensate with some surprisingly likeable characters, and aren't afraid to spend a few episodes concentrating on plot and character development.

I thought it was because of the Gundams are made of (ugh) "Gundanium," and that the reason the Alliance doesn't have more Tallgeese (woo more Tallgeese!) isn't because they're cheapskates. The Tallgeese is damn difficult to pilot.

Doesn't really matter how it's explained, though. The fact is, the fights are one-sided so they're boring to watch. They use a lot of static frames and recycled frames, too.

hahaha, likable characters my butt. Also for a 50 episode show, having a sprinkling of character background and plot just isn't enough. I remember Endless Waltz had a bit about some characters' origins--should've been in the show.

Still, the SNES game Gundam Wing: Endless Duel rocks my world. I play against my buddies on an emulator even today.

*shrug* I came to animé kind of late -my earliest exposure to it was Pokemon, which nearly put me off the whole genre for life, and I haven't even had time to get annoyed with all the filler in Inuyasha yet- so my standards are still kind of low; all I really have to compare it with is the stuff that was coming out of the States at that time.
I must also also credit Wing with avoiding the same trap that Big O fell into, and mixing plot and action from the first episode; one of the things that nearly put me off Big O altogether was that the first half-dozen episodes felt like they were written backwards from the Megadeus battles, and everything that went on before and after that was mere set dressing. Jim and Finale had to lean on me quite hard to persevere with it until things picked up a bit.

For a reeeeally good Gundam series, watch The 08th MS Team. It might be a little confusing at first because there's about 15 years worth of backstory from other shows before that one came out. But it's good. Damn good. That's the one that REALLY got me hooked on Gundam.

I'll bear that in mind, thanks. I think I'll persevere with what goes before, however.

08th MS Team is only confusing for a little while, then your "Holy crap, this is awesome" reflex overrides that entirely.

This. 08th MS Team is one of the single greatest Gundam series, besides SD Gundam Force.
