Totally slipped my mind. If they put Escaflowne on after school or prime time, and slap a TV PG rating on it, it could do ok. The show has really nothing objectionable outside of some blood and very, very minor swearing in the later episodes.

For a moment, I pondered:

"what channel would Escaflowne fall under?"
"Well technically those aren't Mecha. They're Dragon Armors."
"Yeah, but I'm sure that most people aren't that technical."
"But you're one of the ones that are."
"Which brings me back to the question of what channel. Do mecha have to be metal, and you know...Dragon Armors kinda operate like mecha..."

Dragon Armor? Is that what Guymelefs are called in the movie? It also sounds like they are more than mere machines as well.

I've never seen the movie personally. I do watch the TV series regularly though, although, I can see Esca being a tough sell to the mainstream American market.

Oh hell, Someone get Heroman the hell over here.

What does it matter whether they're powered by Dragon Stones or a micro-fusion reactor? They're all enormous, mechanical suits of armor. That's enough to be mecha in my book.

I think the movie was enjoyable, but you have to put your brain on hold and just feel the EMOTION. Escaflowne Movie was geared towards 16 year old girls.

In a bit of good news, I do believe Stan Lee is working on getting Heroman released over here and ready for broadcast in near future.

I only last week found out about what became of Cartoon Network -- or, should I say, "Malformed Bastard Child of AMC, TDC and LSD Network".

I had to check TV Guide something like six hours in advance to even find a fricking cartoon.

I guess 4kids is offering the best Saturday morning cartoon block on earth right now. Which I totally intend to watch tomorrow. Even TMNT: Back to the damn-fool Sewers. Which is slightly less awful than TMNT: Forever purports to be.

This said, every modern rendition of TMNT is enough to make the Shredder impale himself on his claws in shame.

"OMG! Master Splinter is stuck in the Intarnetz! We must dress up in anachronistic Net Suitz and save him from AdAware!"

"HAHA! 9999 Meg connection PWNZ J00!"

...bleagh.

Yeah, in some sort of ironic twist, it's now 4Kids that has the better Saturday morning cartoon block oddly enough.

I miss good old cartoons. i grew up on Dexter's Lab, Tom and Jerry, Powerpuff girls, Pokemon, Disney (the 90's Disney where Rob what's his last name could play a multi-gendered Genie in an Aladdin movie and no on thought it was wrong), Dragon Ball, Z, Buu saga, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, and of course Big O.

Yeah. I miss those.

Well, in another ironic twist, I actually missed the whole damn 4kids block by sleeping late.

The thing that surprised me was that I actually slept last night.

I miss the good old cartoons, too. I've always liked DBZ because it requires virtually no thought, and that's relaxing. Dexter's Lab was way cool all the way up to the switch to digitally-painted cels, whereabout some kind of bizarre transformation took place where nothing Dexter did mattered anymore, nor was funny.

Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh used to rule my shagging universe.

And Big O Season I is victory. High-quality hand-painted cels animation FTW.

I hope that list wasn't good old cartoons, because I watched Voltron, G-force, Speed Racer, the original TMNT, GI Joe, Captain Planet, Reboot, Transformers, and School House Rock. I watched them every Saturday morning with my parents.
