So Watching Act 6 again the other day I noticed something. The cartoon Dastun watches in the theater looks a lot like Oswald the unlucky rabbit. That's not important in and of itself until you consider that Oswald the unlucky rabbit is Disney property.
Oswald was originally Paramount pics cartoon character, but about 15 or more years ago Disney bought it. Now here's where it pertains to our favorite megadues. If Bandai used Oswald, or a look alike is it possible that, just to screw with fans, they pulled another Disney stunt and committed Disney death on everything in Paradigm city in the last few minutes of Act 26? Think about it, the world ends, everything is dead and fake and then boom, it's all back to normal and everything can go on living.


I'm certainly not the first to think this. I saw a Disney Big O cross over a while ago. It was in Japanese, but still, someone else has noticed it before. I'm not sure, but I do think it's screwy how they did that. And people in show biz rip each other off all the time.

Also while listening to a pink Floyd album I noticed that a lot of the songs have similar names to Acts and characters, or stuff that goes on in the show. "The Show Must go on" and "Vera", plus "Just another brick in the wall", "Is there anybody out there" and "Run like hell", "Outside the wall". I don't think that is coincidence, not in the least. Most these songs express ideas found in Big O. Just too weird not to have been done on purpose.


Also going to post that Big O interest in Japan is on the rise. Have absolutely no idea why, but in the past 3 weeks I've found a lot of Japanese Big o stuff.

You are really grasping at straws here since that doesn't even make much sense. No one in the industry uses the term "Disney Death", that's an Internet thing. More than likely they were referencing how retro Paradigm is supposed to feel, as in the 40's and 50's theaters used to show cartoons before features. It was a stylistic choice and I'm pretty sure it wasn't foreshadowing anything.

Also, for future note, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (not "unlucky") was reacquired by Disney in February 2006 almost solely for his eventual use in the Epic Mickey video game.

I'd like to see this crossover... unless it's a fanfic, then it can burn. I can imagine it being some sort of Kingdom Hearts sort of thing. Also, that last "comment" is really unfair. Remember that even for the Japanese Anime/manga industry there is a fine line between homage, ripping off, copyright infringement, and product placement.

Unlike my assessment of some of your other theories, I actually find credibility in this. Big O's production had an obvious influence from Pink Floyd. I've actually found comparable portions of Big O's soundtrack matching up to music by Pink Floyd. It's been a while since I looked up all the similarities, but most noticeably is Atom Heart Mother's guitar solo being very similar to Dreadful from the Big O 2nd OST.

Of course this could just be an indirect subtle homage to Giant Robo (which a good portion of the team creative came from). As one song in Giant Robo's soundtrack rips off Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother" nearly note for note/chord for chord.

Yeah maybe. But I think it's just a little too weird that of all cartoons they could have made homage to something Disney related show up.

Also volger the cross over was Big O characters as Alice in wonderland characters places. I've seen a beauty and the beast one too.

If what you're talking about is old-school disney then its not surprising, back in the days of fantasia and whatnot that was state of the industry stuff.

Somebody doing it professionally looking back on what would (especially within their profession) be viewed as classic stuff makes sense.
