Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: seraphjei on August 14, 2007, 06:12:30 PM I particularly enjoyed the Wolf's Rain OST, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, FLCL, and Beck. The must from all of these series have stuck with me and I still listen to them on a regularly basis. There of course are more OST's out there for anime, but none had as much impact as the ones I mentioned. Opinions on your favorite anime music?
Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: Citizen Nine on August 14, 2007, 06:20:10 PM The Cowboy Bebop OST is fucking win. I listen to the soundtrack everyday.
Also, FLCL (if that counts) too. Peace. Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: Mewtwo on August 14, 2007, 06:46:59 PM I have to agree, Cowboy Bebop is my favorite OST, I doubt any other can match up to it. (Except maybe Trigun's OST)
Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on August 14, 2007, 06:51:21 PM Bruce Faulconer's Dragon Ball Z soundtrack, of course. That is awesome, and the music for Cell's death is amazingly dramatic. It's all pure instrumental, and it just kicks the whole show up a notch.
War. Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: Galatea on August 14, 2007, 07:37:32 PM The first keroro Gunso OST!

Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: Citizen Nine on August 15, 2007, 01:56:29 PM Oh one more, if there isn't a Ghost in the Shell track I've haven't downloaded, that won't last too long.
That's the best for me personally. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't listen to it. EDIT: From Bebop and Ghost, I'm a HUGE Yoko Kanno fan. My goal in life is to get her to score some of my films when I make it into the industry... oh, and to be able to make said films too. But yeah, Yoko Kanno kawaii~ Peace. Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: Galatea on August 16, 2007, 02:50:34 AM Have you downloaded the whole solid state society ost nine?

Title: Favorite anime OST Post by: The Ghost Of Ember on August 17, 2007, 02:46:50 AM Cowboy Bebop is the undisputed king of anime soundtracks. It has some annoying songs, and some of it's plain instrumental songs go on for far, FAR longer than they're actually good for, but for the most part it's Twue Wub.
I've got the Big O OSTs, and they're great, probably their biggest flaw is that they have fifty different versions of the same song. The lack of vocals can be at times grating as well. I think vocals are generally overused in music, but when I listen to so many songs in a row without them, I tend to lose focus and they drift out of my perception. FLCL... I loved the soundtrack when it was in the show, but listening to the OST I can't actually seem to get into it. I dunno. It's weird. The Trigun soundtrack is very good as well. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: DOMON KASSHU! on March 08, 2008, 08:38:44 AM On another note, the Ranma 1/2 opening song is addictive like heroin combined with crack combined with nicotine combined with Pixie Stix combined with Everquest.

Off the top of my head, I'd probably say the Hellsing television series soundtrack, maybe tied with FLCL. Of course, anything by Yoko Kanno is golden, and I liked the Eureka seveN OSTs, too. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: shadowdorothy on April 14, 2008, 08:48:40 PM I like the GTS SaC sound track. Ghost in the shell rocks, I kind of wonder why they choose a Russian pop star to sing the theme, or why it's in Russian at all?
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: EyeOfPain on April 17, 2008, 07:18:08 AM If I recall correctly, Yoko Kanno, the composer of the soundtrack for all the Stand Alone Complex projects, didn't want a typical J-Pop sound for the opener, so she contacted Origa, who wrote the lyrics to, and performed, "Inner Universe," along with several other tracks.
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: Zaune on April 24, 2008, 05:10:39 PM This one's a little on the obscure side but for me, the 2004 remake of Area 88 has the best soundtrack of any animé I've ever watched, with Big O a very close second.
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: The Final Negotiator on April 28, 2008, 08:09:49 AM Depending on my mood...
Pop Tunes - Eureka Seven Jazz/Action - Cowboy Bebop/Big O Orchestral/Mystery - Robotech (The Super Dimension Fortress Macross/Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross/Genesis Climber Mospeada) Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: R. Daniel 01 on May 01, 2008, 01:55:45 PM Y'all have to listen to RahXephon. Not really a fan of the anime, myself, but the soundtrack has it.
Also, Code Geass is really catchy and exciting. Quote This one's a little on the obscure side but for me, the 2004 remake of Area 88 has the best soundtrack of any animé I've ever watched, with Big O a very close second. I've heard of Area 88! In the original anime there was an English voiceactor with the same name as mine. Never heard any songs from it though. Could you link me to your favs? Nah man, Big O's weak. I'm glad it introduced me to Raindrop Sonata, and I like the Paradigm City theme loads, and, okay, Sure Promise is epic... but the rest of the sountrack is forgettable to me. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: Zaune on May 01, 2008, 07:44:42 PM There's not much on the net, but I've got both volumes of the OST. PM me with your email address and I'll send over some of my favourites.
Oh, and if you've not yet seen it, I started an Area 88 discussion thread. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: R. Daniel 01 on May 01, 2008, 09:20:11 PM If you click the little envelope beneath my name, your e-mail service should pop up with my address already in the "To:" field.
I guess I'll edit this later and put in some YouTube links to some of my favs. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: Bllue on May 25, 2008, 06:07:32 PM OST is Original Sound Track, right? Sadly, i don't have any. I should look for some...... or just look at what you guys have...
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: EyeOfPain on May 25, 2008, 06:14:49 PM I don't see why you can't have a favorite anime soundtrack if you don't own any. I guess it could help, though.
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: Bllue on May 25, 2008, 06:37:49 PM well, i was in little tokyo yesterday, and i swear to gawd that they were playing the orchestral music from inuyasha. That got me excited. that and the extremely hot japanese guy i almost ran into..... *sigh*
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: seraphjei on May 25, 2008, 11:00:05 PM As of now, Code Geass, and Gurren Lagann hold top positions. Great music from both series.
Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: Mike on February 09, 2009, 09:38:49 PM omfg necromancy. But it's still on the front page.
Macross frontier has a pretty awesome soundtrack. And I usually hate J-pop. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: R. Daniel 01 on February 11, 2009, 09:31:36 PM Code Geass Seconded. Very epic and sophisticated. I also find Death Note's soundtrack nice when I'm feeling melancholic. Anyone seen and heard RahXephon? That's another one you should hear. Title: Re: Favorite anime OST Post by: Char Aznable on March 06, 2009, 02:07:29 PM I haven't seen RahXephon in a long time...
Myself, I'm caught between GITS and Cowboy Bebop. But I'm also listening to a lot of Yoko Kanno right now.
