...I don't have anything against essays all that much. Sure they're a pain in the ass to write, but other than that I'm pretty good at writing them. And being the kind of writer I am, I always go over the limit of pages given. Like, if a professor wants eight pages, I'd end up giving him 14 or something like that. This, unless its absolutely a useless one and has some obscenely low required page amount. Which is rare, also those two things usually happen in conjunction Oh yeah, that's true. Like if its something like two pages, than I can do that in like 30 minutes. Real essays though I tend to go a bit... overboard, even if its something I don't even care to write about. Yeah, you don't... get too many of those "two page" essays in college anyway. Ironically enough, I have a one page problem in business stats to do for next week. Peace. |

I got a bunch of 2/3 page essays in college, mostly in my writing classes. Being a biology major was awesome, you never had to write papers.

Really? My bio teacher showed us her term paper, she needed a big box for it...
Yeah, High schooler.... taking freshman college english.... And getting A's. do I hate essays? No, not at all... *rubs in faces* Ahem...

At least they don't force you to suddenly convert to that other meathod that no one uses, and there fore can't tell you the name of it...

Well, I know soon enough I'll have essays again, but in the meantime I have a little breathing room. Taking certification courses is much easier on my nerves, I must say.

I have a paradoxicall relationship with essays; on the one hand, I have whole journals full of essays that span scores of pages on what many, I imagine, would consider the driest, most boring crap to ever spawn from the heads of the world's intellectuals - trends in evolution, the nature of male and female sexuality, and even a 229 page book report on African history. Yet, I will procrastinate to the very last minute on a 5-10 page school essay. I don't like doing things just for the grade, and I'm very independent when it comes to my avenues of intellectual expression.
