GODDAMMIT WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO CHIEN-MING WANG??
He was unstoppable until about a week ago and then was completely and totally manhandled in his last 2 starts, the only starts that really really matter.
We would have won on Friday in Game 2 if it wasn't for those damn bugs. I hope I don't have to burn my 13-RODRIGUEZ shirt if he leaves.
....Sorry. I just needed to vent. Give me a couple days and my seething, lifelong hatred for the Red Sox will overcome my temporary anger at the Indians and I'll start rooting for the Tribe.
Anyway.
American League Championship Series: Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Red Sox.
National League Championship Series: Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks.
My picks are Cleveland and Colorado for entirely selfish, bastardly, angry-Yankee-fan reasons. Boston is evil, and Arizona beat us in 2001.
Discuss? Maybe? I know nobody follows baseball these days anymore.

Boston is evil October 24th 2004, the Red Sox win the world series. A lunar eclipse occurs the same night. The moon is blotted out of the sky when they win the series. Coincidence? |

I'm not that mad with the Yankees there a great team with great players. Torre shouldn't be fire it's not his fault they can't win. The lack of pitchers and injuries plague them since spring training. I say give them another year help out their pitching staff. My money goes to Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Soxs in the World Series.

The Rockies have been unstoppable monsters...but how much of that was against an AL team? I think it was none. I can see Sabathia really giving the Red Sox a run for their money. At the same time, I was really surprised how badly Lackey got chewed up last week.
So it's still really anybody's game.
And for the record, I think the biggest problem with the Yankees is Steinbrenner. That and the unfortunate fact that Paul O'Neill and Bernie got old.

I've just been a lifelong "Yankees=good, Red Sox=Avatars of pure evil" sort. So now I can just read this and..it's a time-saver is what it is.
edit: Also as far as I'm concerned, the sox didn't break the curse...yes, they won that series. But the final game they won was NOT against the Yankees, the whole curse thing revolves around babe ruth, until they beat the Yankees in the final game of a world series I won't consider it broken. They need to stare their mortal enemies in the face.

Steinbrenner is a greedy old man who wants the best. I'm glad Bernie decided not to play with them this year because they lowered his pay to a million. The fact he is greedy and wants the best players in the league to make him win. Not realizing what he is getting players who out of the prime. Clemens, Randy Johnson, Andy Pentite, Mariano Rivera, they all great players but come on there greatest won't last that long. Besides there isn't a good manager other than Torre that can lead the Yankees. |

With all that money they pay A-Rod you can get more younger baseball players espically youngsters. Guess have to wait on what George is going to do. Word is it could be Larussa, Tony Pena, Bobby Valentine, Joe Gardi. |

That can never happen, with them being in the same league and all. 2004 is pretty much where its at. I'm pretty much the only guy I know who has no problems with either NYY or BOS, but yeah. At least A-Rod didn't suck this time as before. I think the Red Sox will get to the World Series, but like Mike said, Sabathia is crazy right now and he should win the CY Young Award. But I like the tandem of Beckett, Schilling and Matsuzaka too much from Boston. And the way Ortiz and Ramirez were hitting against the Angels as well helps in the long run. The NL, eh. The Diamondbacks have the pitching sure, but I like the Rockies' lineup overall more. Brandon Webb will give them hell but Matt Holliday, Matsui, and the rest of the Rockies are good enough hitters to step up to the plate and do their thing. So yeah, I guess for the World Series I got Boston and Colorado. Wouldn't be surprised in the least if Arizona won, but yeah. Also Mike, I know you're a hardcore Yanks fan so there's a lot of talk that Tony La Rossa would like the manager job in New York if Torre (when, I guess I should) is not coming back and if the general manager of St. Louis is to his liking. NO ONE does. How bout em Mets? But The Cardinals were raped by injuries all year. I mean, look what happened when they are healthy. Besides, they're saying that Mattingly (or something like that) is the best and most likely candidate for the job. Peace. |

It seems I have lost interest in the ALCS/NLCS all together. Guess I should start counting the days remaining of the old Yankee Stadium which I live right next to. The new one is almost complete, by 2008 it shall be done thus the history, legends of the old shall be quiet for some time.
