The New RP Planning Thread

Since the old forums are closing tomorrow (dangit, that's my birthday), I figure I should post a new planning thread. :] So, here's the first post.

Recap of last thread: We're planning on starting a new Big O RP or a general RP for the sake of...general-ness. But most likely Big O. We may or may not continue with the old RP (that has yet to be decided, but I think because of the lack of writers, we may start a new one). If we start a new RP, we're looking for a few more original characters, I think, since people have more ideas.

Post if you have ideas, and I'll (or Big Finale) can update here at the first post.

Sorely tempted to just straight-up copy my characters from the MFL (Megadeuses optional). Always wanted to use them in an honest-to-goodness RP.

We'll see how that works out. We don't want another MFL tragedy to occur. We (meaning a majority of those in the last RP) all agreed to try and keep the RP more "story" related, rather than about fighting. I personally agree with that, but we may have a new MFL forum, depending on how Big Finale feels about that (that's beyond me, since I'm only helping plan the RP). If not, original characters (meaning dominuses, people like Julia or Snake) are more than welcome in the RP, so long as they...develope the story somehow.

We need a Roger.

Maybe Stryker will come here because he loves us?

I think Snake tried crossovering once in the old RP way back. Like alchemy, but everyone pretty much rejected it.

Rex: I was the one who tried to start an MFL RP thread so that we could build an actual story instead of just having random Megadeus fights all the time. If I do bring my MFL characters over, they would all be getting a fresh start and contribute to the RP in ways other than provoking or participating in Megadeus battles.

I didn't mean anything by it. I was just saying that (to add on to Finale's point) that Snake attempted a cross over and not many people liked it in the last RP. I'm really waiting for other members to hop on it and give some opinions so it's not just us arguing over this (not that I really want to argue anyway.). So far the only orignal characters in the other RP are: Snake, Julia, Rampage, Emilia...oh, crap, there's a lot. 0_o' I forgot them all.

lol. J/K. Anyway, we'll plan a bit more later, when other members are around to help out in that process.

And I'm "Rev" not "Rex". =] Unless that was a combination of Rev and XVII. lol.

Whoops, sorry. Mis-read the name.

As to crossovering...all my characters are original, though they existed long before I brought them to the MFL. They're all from my own universe, summarily dubbed the "Jimmyverse" until such time as I think of a better name. The idea is that my characters were secretly visiting the Big O universe, got caught in a Reset, had all their memories erased and younger copies of themselves start to pop up...etc. Except the Megadeuses, they were indigenous.

If I do use them in this new RP, it would be the same basic set-up, and their main personal storyline would be them trying to recover their memories and escape Paradigm City before/in case it gets Reset again. They would not, initially, know that they were from another universe, and even if/when they recovered their memories they wouldn't go making it common knowledge.

Ah, but I never really saw Derek Stryker (character) in the thread. When did he start? *hasn't exactly read the beginning of the RP yet* If he didn't start there...Agh, I'm getting to easily confused from the obvious lack of sleep.

I'm still up for starting over cause like I said, I had something planned for Rampage and Snake but time kinda erased whatever plans I had.  Besides I have a new original character I want to use.

1. That sounds good. Wanna pitch the character? I want to hear a bit about it. =] And yeah...time did kind of erase a lot of plans (like I had some for Julia, but I've pretty much forgotten them.)

I have it on good authority that there will not be any MFLery on this forum, for the very reasons earlier notated. If anyone ever has interest in that sort of thing, there are... other ways that some might consider... Unnatural.

(Is it possible to learn these ways?)

Count me in, whatever you do. I'm an RP fiend. Or at least, I used to be. I'd prefer to have a Big O RP, mostly because I've wanted to be in one since I became a fan, and my attempts have been mostly unsuccessful. I'd also prefer it to be a new one, but I can dig through the archives of the old one if need be. If so, I would love to play Schwarzwald, but if not I can manage one of the other villains if need be.
