Go watch it at Funimation! It's got a very primal plot. Lots of jealousy, ambition and despair. Or to put it another way, lots of boobs and gore, and dementia.

My only caveat is that it's very "Japanese." Many of the scenes have little movement in them. To be specific, there is almost always movement, but the movements are often minute and done with excruciating attention to detail.

At least, every shot is highly artistic. Lots of euphemism and visual metaphor.

12 episodes in total.

Death Frenzy is indeed awesome. I also like the fact that the animation style isn't super kawaii desu ultra generic failure.

Fo rizzle.

There were too many memorable moments to list without me sounding like a frothing fanboy, but I liked two things above all. I thought the sensei's wife and her misfortune was handled tremendously well. What was her name... Ino? And the moment near the beginning when Pretty Boy conquered that singing peasant-girl, just by snagging her pinky, that was pretty badass. That damn Pretty Boy made such an excellent villain.

What did you think of the ending?

The ending was awesome. Seriously, more anime needs to be like Death Frenzy as the stuff these days is made of mostly fail.

Agreed.

This forum doesn't have spoiler tags, does it...

I mean, it's not as if there are many reading this, but still.

I think we have spoiler tags, but they have to be entered manual or something like that. But yeah, like it matters. The place is deserted most of the time lol.

lol right.

Actually, setting the text color to beige has a similar effect. I'm gonna use it. This thread does have 121 views, for some reason.

Well I was gonna say, I'm fine with the unconventional ending, but I was curious about what happened to the dojo's second-in-command. The general fatalism of the series implies that he died between the last episode and the match at the series' beginning, but it's hard to swallow that such a sympathetic character would die as an assumption.

I'm fine with supplying my own outcome to the match at the beginning, and I'm also not too concerned with how the Good Guy lost his right arm. Absolutely nothing could top the wickedness of the final battle. But the fate of the second-in-command still bugs me.

Such a damn shame that Ie gave Pretty Boy a chance to prevail. She was eerily beautiful, though.

I picked this bad boy up on Bluray and re-watched it. It's still awesome. Even the dub feels slow paced honestly. It's not bad, but it just seems the dialog even slow.

As for the ending, it's a cliffhanger in my book. I have a hard time believing he dies so easily not to mention they used the "foresee your own death" trick about 50 times over the series, then again the Manga is still on going in Japan.
