Used my birthday money to buy two dresses, a pair of shorts, a bird necklace, four t-shirts, one pair of the most adorable floral flats, a new hand bag, and the LP of Lady Gaga's "The Fame Monster."

It is. 8D I ordered it from Hot Topic since the record store in DC/Dupont Circle only had the Paparazzi single on vinyl.

And I thought I was the only person that still had a record player.

Woah. That's special in a good way. You don't just love the retro stuff, you live it.

Nope, not the only one. I also have one. There are probably thousands lurking across the country, gathering dust.

It's good to hear other people still have record players and that I'm not the only one! I love going to thrift/second hand stores to get records there, because they always have them for an incredibly cheap price (50 cents and/or $1) and there are some amazing finds too (like the entire soundtracks to My Fair Lady and West Side Story and even some Bing Crosby).

Yep, I got one, too...a school phonograph from a rummage sale...with a new needle bought from Radio Shack. It was supposed to be for my mom,  to play her 33's and 45's. However, she really wanted something small, like a kiddy player... The first rock tune I ever heard was an old 45 of "Benny and the Jets" by Elton John.

Now, back to the spending...
Parking a few blocks from the ball park... $10 (and $6 for Mrs. Negotiators car, parked much farther away)... Food at the ball park... $32... 10 innings and my team gets the win...priceless... Also included at no extra charge: lots of traffic to the ballpark, lots of traffic in the parking garage itself, and as a result of "zoning" from climbing garage tiers behind said traffic, I thought I parked two levels below the level where I actually parked, and wasted a little time leaving. Yeah, I guess I could consider that "the tax"...  Smiley

P.S. I did acquire Puzzle Quest: Galactrix DS,  a couple of rear break rotors, a control arm (car part - yes it sounds like a cool sci-fi thing), Transformers: Animated Activator Megatron and... Why yes, Megatron... He stands on my computer desk, entertained by a gunfight between Worlds Smallest Prime & Megatron and a fistfight between ROTF Legends Power-up Prime/Jetfire & Megatron... I guess I'm easily amused... Cool

there's 3 record players in my house, and a 1930's antique radio. It still works too.
Also: discount Easter chocolate. yay.

Relevant to this thread: haha.

No, I didn't buy it, but I'm somewhat tempted. Just paid for a couple anime figures, though.

thinking of buying a broken ipod touch. broken touch goes for around $40, and the part to fix it would be around $10-20. so in all I'd pay $60-70 for an ipod which costs $250 new.
I love cheating the system.

bump

got a gundam 00 model kit today. along with a MTG world wake booster pack.
Gundam Model kit's can be hard to build. Especially when the instructions are wrong, and you have to take the part you just build apart to fix it.

Quite. Best $90 I've spent in a long while.

Just got my Creative ZEN 32 GB media player in the mail and waiting for it to charge.
