And it feels good! I missed you guys. Wherever there's a dedicated anime forum, the people on it are going to be generally pleasant. This is my conclusion.
Several things kept me away for a couple of months. Now they're all finished. At this point, boy do I have plenty to post.

Welcome back!
Please watch were you park your car as your car insurance may not cover damage caused by megadeuses.

Too damn long. These forums have gotten even more ghostly since my last active period. It's disappointing to me, especially coming back with hopes and intentions. Many of my Internet acquaintances are just faceless, and most fade after just one year, but Big O will forever be linked to discovery. It would be crushing to lose the last of the acquaintances I associate with that. Though, perhaps that is just the feeling of losing old baggage from a previous form. Maybe it's mere nostalgia. Where do you guys typically go, forum-wise? Is your Escaflowne community still active, Gaddes--er, I mean, Graham?

I've been over at the PSU forums. It's a Playstation centered site, and the people are swell.
I've also been going to No Mutants Allowed and RPG Codex a good bit as well. Both sites are the victim of Bethesda's smear tactics for voicing opposition to their overhyped and overrated McRPG's.
As for the Escaflowne community, It's still around, but pretty much under the radar.

I see. No anime ones. It's good that they PSU people are swell, as you say. I joined a Starcraft-centered forum a couple weeks ago, but the people there were sucky.
I've been thinking of joining something semi-big and obvious, like the ANN forum.
Does the Escaflowne community still have a website? If they still have a forum, I want to visit it. If they have old codgers still clinging to their fandom like us, then we must be similar.

If they still have a forum 99% of the sites are small fan sites that haven't been updated in years and a quick forum search for a big Esca fansites turns up stuff like Fanfic.net and other small communities. Outside of CoA and the old Paradigm forums, I haven't been to to many Anime websites. However back in the late 90's I joined numerous DBZ and Gundam sites.

I'm not sure what to name myself. R. Daniel makes sense for this forum, because I feel relatively connected to you guys, and the whole Dorothy thing.
My DeviantArt name is Can't Stop the Robot, or rather, CantStoptheRobot. I think I'll go with something like that. Hyper-cute would be Cant Stop the Robop.
Do you have any opinion on this, and also, what will you be naming yourself?

Whenever I sign up, you'll know it's me, I'll either use Gaddes or Graham Aker.

I signed up as Can't Stop the Robot.
They have their forum options on a line of tabs, linking to other parts of their site. Rolling over this can cause unintentional opening up of some other junk. Also, every page is bordered by a huge ad for Gunslinger Girls. These things bother me.
The Community forum is blocked with no explanation as to what grants permission. I assume I have to make a post or something. Still, odd.
EDIT: You need to subscribe in order to turn off the ads and enter the Community forum.
Hmm... I'm beginning to wonder if the ANN forums are indeed the answer. Subscription is cheap, but...
The generically-named Anime-Forums.com seems better. In format and interface, (vBulletin), and in community composition, it reminds me of PCF, except with more people.

Blah, subscription to post in a the community forum? Weak. Also, every page is bordered by a huge ad for Gunslinger Girls. Yeah, ANN usually has those huge ads, and they change every one and awhile. At least it's Gunslinger Girls, and not the creepy hell Higarushi boarder they had a few months ago. except with more people lol, that doesn't take much sadly. I swear we keep losing people every few months.
