I have this glorious idea for a Big O video game but the problem is i lack capitol and people who share my vision.
What I am looking for is investors and programmers to help me out.
The idea is to expand the story and include all of it at the same time.
If interested in my idea just hit me up and i will gladly fill you in.
I love the show and the style.
Plus who wouldn't want to beat the crap out of baddies and cause massive destruction in the procress.
Don't let me lose this memory.
If you also have an idea on game mechanics, new enemies, and just in general comments feel free to let loose.

There was a guy at SBO when that site was still up, named Shn275, who made a two 3-D Big O games in Blender, and programmed them himself. You could play as any one of the three main Bigs, with Megas XLR as a bonus character. There was even an adventure section for each character. As Roger you had to avoid the footfalls of a massive alien Megadeus as you waited for Big O to durface; as Schwarzwald you had to wander the desert; and as Alex... well he just activated Fau in the hangar. Sound effects from the show, and every Big had a full set of attacks!

I won't go into the adventure game he made, but that was also cool.

Showing up with nothing... do you really have a vision, or is it a daydream? We're all fans here, but only a very few still care enough to produce anything Big O related anymore.

Oh how I wish I'd been around this age when Big O was brand new... and the community had thrived...

I have an idea similar to that.
It comes it two main game types.
The first is Roger which is like GTA 4 but with Paradigm and you run around doing negotiations which can be story based and just side missions which unlock memories in a data section of the game.
The negotiations run from the usual hostage negotiations, getting back stolen property, finding missing people, or just random things like in act 19 where the salvage yard owner asks him to get the android parts amung many others which i need fan imput to make it more varied.
As Roger it is in a third person kind of view and you ride all around Paradigm.  You have many gadgets like a even cooler mix of James Bond and Batman gadgets.  His communicator watch that acts as a multi tool (Compass, Laser, Grappling hook, Objectve updates) then you have other gadgets like his skeleton key to special gloves that give off electrical charges in fist fights (I know force is a last resort but sometimes he doesnt have a choice but to fight back), and his suit case which can act as a destraction device to a zip line.
Then we get to the real action which is the Mega battles, you got the story battles like Big Duo both forms, Big Fau, and the many Beck mega's, but i also want to create more like in act 1 when we first see Big O Dastun exclaims not again like this has been going on which still more fan input to make this a game of the people.
As Big O you have unlock upgrades like how they did in the series from season one Big O weapons compared to season two.  I also want to invent some new ones like inhanced ammunition or stronger beams or even weapons that convert from parts of his body (His two main shields on his for arms can be removed and form a sort of hammer or axe).
I want to progress the game in Acts like the series.
When the game begins Schwarzwald's famous quote about truth to a black screen then start up like the series always does.
Then using a line from one of the scripts i read, recount how Roger left the military police which acts as a tutorial stage for the roger section of the game as Dastun instructs u on the mechanics.
Then when you meet the Butler for you first true mega battle you are instructed in the Big O mechanics, and as a spoof the first mega you face i want to be a spoof in a sense of a Gundam (Love the series and have to acknowledge that).
Then I need to work on the filler but at the end you unlock a multiplayer mode in which you go online and participate in mega battles with online friends to see who is the true Domine.
It's a rough idea i know and its constantly in work so if you have any ideas on how to make it better im glad to hear them.
No idea is a bad idea unless you dont say it.

Wait, that actually got finished? I'd assumed that kinda fizzled like 99.99% of anything related the fan made Big O ideas.

Anyways, I'd love to see a Big O game personally. A GTA style game where you go around investigating various areas would be damn awesome.

Yep. I can probably scrounge them up from Zola, if you're really interested.

I really want fan input cause im kind of tired of all the anime games that come out and end up messing up everything.
Most of the Dragonball Z games bombed in my view.
Almost every Gundam game blew bad except for the first for PS2.
The only one that ever got somewhat close was Afro Samurai but it dropped the ball on most of the story.
I want this game to be true to the series.
The core mechanic is going to be the way you negotiate with people.
Think of the how conversations were played out in Mass Effect.
You have a choice of sticking to the rules, be neutral, or be a lil daring.
As you progress you notority will rise in the way you do things.
You could be loved by the people which could increase the ability to find leads easy without bribes or going to Big Ear (He will always be the center of the investigation play) but Paradigm Corp may send things after you from assassins to mega's and the military police will back you up in Mega battles as a special command.
If your neutral well nothing really changes.
If your more daring and loose site of the rules the people may dislike making it hard to find leads and increase the amount of cash you fork out to Big Ear for info but Paradigm Corp wont come after you but you loose the support from the military police.
Also as you go through random side negotiations you unlock new ways to get leads from who you help if you do it right along with new gadgets for Roger to use.
Im still in deliberation on how to do the Mega battles, would it be better to do it like old school 2D fighting with a life bar or 3rd person behind Big O with the radar status and weapons equipped in the three screen that show up on the bottom of the screen.
The 2D is old school but i feel it wont get the true feel of the immense battle and destruction, an example of this is the Fight with Big Duo wont be as dramatic but would be so much simpler for multiplayer for the console and have friends play
The third person view i think would capture the true feel as you lock onto Big Duo and track him as he soars threw the air as you radar goes off from the barage of missles he sends, but the multiplayer aspect would only be able to be done online which would be cool cause imagine your playing as Big Duo and flying abover Paradigm (Hidden Wall in the battle so you cant go to the stage ceiling sorry but has to be done)The mechanics i would try to do an Assassins Creed kinda thing with high and low profile actions for the mega battles.
Example would be a face button for Big O's regular hits and eye beams and grapple moves and blocking.  When you pull a trigger you can activate Big O's piston punches which could be upgraded to the degree at which the piston pulls back and could be a charged attack, then his ChromeBuster, then his anchors for long distance grapples (Or quick zip line to evade attacks or close the distance quickly) and a sort of parry where if you time it right Big O with push his shields forward sending the other mega off balance for attack.
I also want to incorporate a combo system which im still working on.
As you beat the mega's you unlock them for multiplayer and or single player.
I do want the core mega battles to be spaced out but u can summon Big O whenever you want and cause havoc and have acheivements for it just for the evil side of all of us and when you unlock Big Duo you can free fly to the stage ceiling and all around Paradigm and the wastelands around the city and domes.
Please give me feedback and idea's this is a game for us fans and if all things work out i want it to be a game you guys will be proud of and say i was apart of a true Anime/Big O game.

I think I still have the game made where you climb rubble to get into Big O, and then fight Fau.

I also remember not noticing the path in the rubble at first, and pushing Big O and Big Fau around as Roger.

Interesting. I don't remember any game quite like that. Could you provide a link? Or could you e-mail it, perhaps?

TheShowMustGoOn, try organizing your ideas a little better. That wall of text is hard to read.

Hmm I duno, I kinda liked my really really old idea of a Big O game... (I'll try to scrounge up a link from the old site). Maybe the two ideas can be combined in a way, cos mine would feature getting Big O new arm attachments and attacks. Sorta along the ideas of the N64 game "Star Wars Ep1. PodRacer".

Anywho, I actuallly have both of Shn's games on my computer. The first one, and the one with the "story" (like having to run through a Schwarzwald hallway). If I'm not mistaken he's actually in the process of making a third. His youtube accounts occassionally (like once every 6 months) had an update video asking for critiques on a new animation sequence... which he'd then pull down. Saw the last one, and he's been working on making Big O "jump" and walk smoother.

Honestly, I wouldn't shoot for anything beyond a Flash game though. If you do a lot of art, I'll program what I can for you, but not before you do all your own art Wink

My idea of a perfect Big-O video game would probably be something a like a mix of Killer 7 and Indigo Prophecy.

A linear but very story driven adventure game with some action sequences and boss fights.

I'm pretty sure that most of you have seen these videos, I didn't see them until a couple of days ago. But if you haven't, I'm posting the links here. Please tell me that I'm not doing anything wrong here, if I am I'll change my post, but on other forums, I was yelled at for doing things like this. But yeah, this guy here developed a 3D game type of thing here, and uses actual sounds from the series. I think it's pretty cool.
