This is exactly what I mean.

It was great when I was a freshman in high school, but prolly not anymore. And we all know that there are way, way worse animes out there, no matter what.

Those are right hard to come upon, yes.
War.

I'm going out on a limb here but,I think this forum can unanimously agree that Pilot Candidate is worse than Evangelion by a long shot.

More Eva eh? But this time chibi? yeah, sounds stupid. I've always hated Eva, so meh.

Yeah, that show was a joke. The charecter designs and the awful CG where enough for me to stop watching after episode 1.

I never *hated* Eva. I just never got what all the hype was about. Then again, I only saw up until that episode where Asuka defeated the Angel using Iowa-class battleships. Which was a ridiculously bad-ass fight. But I know how at the end it turns into a big psychological essay which may or may not have been entirely inside of Shinji's head, and all of the Christianity symbolism was pretty much just pulled out of their asses because it sounded cool.

also mind rape.

I've just grown to assume the entire show was a really roundabout advertisment for tang.

edit: And if anything I'd say what we're seeing now is a backlash to a precieved backlash. Look you can slice it however you want, it wasn't deep, it was muddled and incomprehensible because anno was just popping xanax and going "SCREW YOU MAN YOU DON'T GET MY ART"

Hence the death threats and such. I do like how he added those in End of Evangelion though. If I ever get any death threats (probably from the comic geeks and art-house film haters), I'll have to do something like that as well.

Also, Hideki Anno is NOT Andy Warhol. I'm just sayin'.
Peace.

Maybe this deserves its own thread but i've seen a few pics of the live-action evangelion movie Weta-digital wants to make in the coming years (the dudes who did lord of the rings, king kong with peter jackson). Anyone else heard of this?

I remember this from a few years ago, but that was the last I heard of it...a few years ago. I think it's in development hell.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Lindsay Lohan as Asuka.

She was made for that role... I don't which was made for who, Lohan or Soryhu. But one of them was made exactly for the other.
Peace.
